My father's youngest sister at 54 y.o. becomes abrasive when she disagrees w/ ppl & she prefers to control situations instead of compromise w/ rest of family. It's getting hard for me to ignore her behavior.

Good luck, if she's 54 she's been getting away with this for a long time. You shouldn't have to be the one to stand up to her, someone should have stopped her a long time ago.
I wouldn't blame you for speaking up to her though. Good luck, hopefully there will be others to back you up.

She probably needs to be taken in for a medical diagnosis.
If the behavior has become increasingly worse over the last couple of years, it could be the onset of some major health problems. She needs to get looked at.

Maybe if your father can find out who her doctor is, and call that person and let them know what is going on, they can call or send her a reminder that she is due for an exam, then they can work on the diagnosis from there.

Other than that, about all you can do is subtract yourself from the situation.

She must want attention very badly. Some people bully at a young age, and never grow up. Everyone should stand up to her and let her know that she is no longer the big dog. You don't have to fight, you just stand up for your rights, and walk away leaving her standing there. She can only control if everyone lets her.

I'd have her so upset with my bullying that she would not want to ever come back.
