I think going to an eye doctor and at least asking about whether surgery is the best approach. That doctor may say an eye patch could help in your case or could say you are wasting your time.

Gosh I have the same problem, it's my right eye too, does yours also look different in the mirror?. Now my good eye is swollen, so I feel sort of blind. When your eyes are messed up it can bring you down.

I asked the doctor about covering the good eye to make the bad one work harder, he said this was an old wives tale, and it wouldn't work.

If you haven't seen an eye doctor, do you know for sure you have lazy eye? Maybe you just need glasses.

Anyway, you need to see an eye doctor for testing to discover why your eye is lazy and whether any treatment would be of benefit.

You need to be evaluated by an opthamologist. In addition to strabismus (the muscles of your eye being "off") you may also have amblyopia, where the brain shuts off the image from the eye that seems "off." Patching may help, but you might also need some surgical correction. Only a doctor can tell you.

It depends on how old you are. My sister has a lazy eye and her problem wasn't detected until she was seven years old. By then it was too late to do anything for her. Despite wearing glasses and an eyepatch, the vision in her bad eye never improved.

Yes, there actually is a surgery to correct lazy eye, my soccer coach got it a couple of years ago. Just go to an eye doctor and ask, I'm sure insurance will cover a chunk of it, and it's totally worth it, I look at my soccer coach differently now.

Two main ways are with bifocal lenses prescribed from a doctor, or, or certain occasions, they can put up an eyepatch over your strong eye, "teaching" your weak eye how to be used, so to speak.

I think if you wear an eye patch over your good eye for a while it strengthens the weak eye
