Yes, (although I haven't quite gotten to "atheist" yet, I consider myself agnostic). I believe that everyone has a right to believe as they will without fear of ridicule or retribution.

Depends on the event. If it's a wedding, funeral, or some sort of holiday celebration, sure. I've already done that plenty of times. If it's a baptism or some kind of purely religious ceremony (as opposed to a ceremony that just happens to be in religious trappings), I may decline. Then again, I don't know which of my friends would actually ask me to be at something like the latter.

a marriage or a funeral i could attend. i does not attend a Baptism as I completely disagree with it, my reason being that i hit upon it an entire insult to the toddler or person to be taken care of as though they're tainted with a black mark acceptable from start by using how, a Baptism and a Christening are the comparable ingredient.

This Atheist would too.
I don't care that it's a religious ceremony.
My family and friends invited me, and it'd be respectful for me to attend.

It depends on the ceremony, but It would not be the religious aspect that would keep me from attending.

Very important religious ceremony? Does not compute. Sort of like a very important easter egg hunt. Fun maybe, but hardly important.

Yeah, I have throughout my entire life. I've gone to the synagogue with my family many many times for holidays and such even though I have never believed in god. When I was a kid, my parents made me of course, but as an adult I have gone many times, but less often in the recent couple of years.

i would attend and be civil but i would not participate in certain things such as sacrament or prayer. I just went through this when my partners mother died in march, they are catholic so i had to suffer through a catholic funeral, which i found highly offensive to the one who passed because in an hour funeral only 10 minutes was actually about the deceased the rest was about god, it was disgusting, but i was there to support my partner, not out of devotion to a lie.

Yeah, why not? Wild horses couldn't have kept me from attending my sister's wedding, and she's Catholic.
