Uh, don't let him get a hold of anything he can chew up. Keep things picked up and out of his reach. When you can't supervise the dog, place him in a crate or a small, puppy-proofed room. Make sure not to leave him crated/confined for too long or too often. Do make sure he gets plenty of exercise, and has good things of his own to chew on.

The dog is obviously bored. Take the dog on at least an hour walk every day and make sure he has plenty of chew toys. Also, if you leave the house then crate train him; however, if you work for long hours you'll have to come let him out at some point to go to the bathroom. Your dog is chewing up everything because it has built-up energy so make sure he gets plenty of excercise.

There is some stuff you can get from Petco or Petsmart (or anywhere like that). It is called "Chew Stop" from Pet Organics. I used the No-Go when I was potty training my dog. The No-Go worked very well. I am sure this product will too. I put it as my source so you can see it (The site is Petco).

Spank your dog when you see him in the act of chewing things up or there's this spray you can buy at the local pet smart or pet store which produces a bitter taste to dogs when licked or tasted.
