There are some sects (Christian Science, for example) that do advocate against carrying health insurance. I live in a state that requires you to carry health insurance. The only exception is if you claim a religious exception (or you're unemployed). This is strictly logical, since why should you pay for a system you're never going to access?
Most Christians, I would venture to say, have a more tempered view of miracles, healings, etc. After all, we believe God endowed us with reason and the ability to create medicines and hospitals and such.
Peace to you.

We're forced to. Don't you watch the news? Actually, many christians have opted for a co-op instead with other christians, as they tend to be healthier than the general public. I get mine from work, so a co-op wouldn't help me. I may join one after I retire. I pray, but still look both ways before I cross the street, and put on my seatbelt when in a vehicle. Ever hear the parable about tempting God? Look up Jesus in the desert sometime. Oh, the ignorance is palpable!

In your hurry to make fun of Jesus, you misspelled his name. The one that I call for a healing is named: Jesus the Christ. There is no jebus; your hatred is vile and is not necessary to get your point across. Christians are used to seeing the words of the unwise on this website. The human body is flesh and will break down because of sin and disobedience to our Lord God, it is one of our punishments which was put on Adam and Eve. We call on Jesus for the healing through mercy and wait for our prayers to be answered soon, and while we are waiting for the healing on this earth, we take medicine. Our prayers may not be answered when we want them to, but they will be right on time. I pray that you may find peace and recieve joy in your life and someone to love beside yourself. May God Bless You.

God is not a push button God. When we want we cannot expect God to snap to attention and provide to meet our every desire. God answers prayer in His timing not ours. He knows what is best for us and when. Many times we wonder why He does not respond to our prayer but down the road we often see why. But as a non believer this might not fit what your image of God is. If you want to find out truth and discover who the creator is I would suggest you take a look in the New Testament at the book of John then look at the book of Romans. You decide if you can accept it or not, you will then know you at least gave the word of God a shot. Cheers!

truth be told, I do commit sickness to prayer first and lay hands on myself and my kids....and usually whatever pain it it...it goes away. Sometimes though, Im just lazy in my faith and its easier to take two excedrin for a headache.
Do I have health insurance yes...because Im not a rich christian so when my faith does fail (as it inevitably will from time to time) i cant afford to pay $300 for an ER visit to get a prescription for antibiotics.
Does it make God, not God? noooooooooooooo.....

You're confusing mainstream Christians with televangelists who scream in cornfields in tents and heal people with diseases and physical informities...the two are entirely different, best to get your facts straight before you go off on a group...I realize it's difficult for you, but try to use a little more restraint and good taste/judgment next time before you make yourself look like a total idiot.

I have had healing from Jesus and have only had insurance about half of my adult life. It's a matter of faith, I believe.
However, Jesus didn't say it was wrong to be protected or prepared. Jesus has given me many things, but he didn't promise a life without trials or difficulty.
Insurance is just an excuse for not saving money. some folks can't save money, so they spend it on insurance.

Just because a prayer is answered, that does not mean the answer is always "yes."
Also, please! Health insurance pays for more than just "healing" -- if it was only about healing, having babies would be a sickness.

Always good to have a backup plan. Kind of like the opposite of Pascal's Wager: If I'm right and God exists then I don't need it but if I also use medical services and am wrong then I get to live.

Christians aren't the only believers in existence.
Prayer works, and so does medical science. If God didn't want us to have medicine, He would have prevented it, and nothing we could do would stop it. Rather, He us to have medicine. It's the fool who refuses it.
ALL healing comes from God. He uses physicians to treat people, whether the physician believes it or not, whether the patient believes it or not. So, for those people refusing medical treatment because they want their healing from God, they are big fools. Healing from a Dr healing from God.
