It depends on what you mean by "sell". I'd say it used to be true, but it is not so any more.

It is well documented that some poor parents used to "sell" (i.e., they got a loan, which the daughter through her work was to pay off) their daughters. These daughters would often end up as house maids, working in sweat shops, or working in brothels.

Some times, HK Chinese or Japanese males would with the assistance of "brokers" scouting in rural villages arrange to "rent" virgins.

In the 1970s and 1980s, this was common with daughters from Isan and northern Thailand. As wealth spread across the Thailand, the areas of sourcing girls changed to hill tribes and to Myanmar.

From the late 1990s, the girls you'd encounter in local brothels would primarily be Burmese.

While it happens, it is not widespread and it certainly is not something any sex tourist is likely to encounter. You'd have to first find the local brothels (where short time costs 200 baht) or the small sweat shops in order to find indentured girls.

In a round about way, sadly, yes. By way of some cash, a new TV, washing machine etc. girls are taken from families, often from up north, to come to Bangkok to work in the sex industry. Promises are made and the girls want to try to make money to send back home to look after their families, but rarely does it pan out the way they hope.

I have never heard of that. But In my area of Thailand we sometimes get news broadcaste over a PA system ,early in the morning,
One morning It was said beware of people in a van looking to steal children. Apparently some people rescued some kids and called the police but the van got away despite police road blocks,,
