Black women will understand what I'm asking. Please don't respond with any silly answers.

I'm curious, how do most black women in the military maintain or wear their hair when going through boot camp, and various training?
Do most wear their hair natural, straightened, braided? Just curious as is this something that I've wondered about a lot.

Thanks!

Is it easy to maintain, do you have access to all of the thing you'd have as a civilian? Perms? People that braid hair?

Rotor, not to be offensive, but you do not understand the question I'm asking, and I would have preferred if you had refrained from doing so.

It is constantly a pain in the butt. I wear mine hair now in cornrows braided so I don't have to deal with it while lets say I am driving or working outside. The men or the women of other nationalities don't understand our pain. In basic training I had long braids I tied up. We black women tend to help each other out and do each others hair for free because we all know the problems with our hair. Here in Iraq we end up doing like we do at home and go of each other rooms and chat when we have free time. I got in trouble sometimes for my hair because it is weirdly short in the front but now it is growing. Braids are the easiet way to go but some females like the old bun. Relaxers sent from home and I have a flat comb the I plug up too. I hope I have helped.

First of all, I am not a black female... but I was a Basic Training Company Commander of a BCT company.

I saw cornrows mostly. Even a lot of the other females also used cornrows. Some black women kept it short, some kept is straight as well.

Nikki was right about others helping each other. Ask your battle buddies for advice and help when you get there, and offer to help as necessary. That is key through all of BCT, not just for your hair, expecially in the first 3 weeks (red phase).

it particularly is straightforward, it particularly is their own decision. i'm no longer a black guy the two, yet whats up i do no longer techniques a woman with a severe-high quality backside, infact i like it! yet I propose she should be healthful thick, no longer undesirable thick, healthful is greater important (And maximum situations it defines butts and boobs the way they have been meant for that lady). each physique is unique.

When in the Marines, most females, white and black, kept their hair shorter while in training. You don't have time to mess with it. Later on, depending on their job, they can let it grow longer, again depending on the job. All services have minimum standards for the wearing of hair and the styles permitted.

However they make you cut it, it always seems to grow back.
