I know that it is the reference the Bible makes to Gehenna, the garbage dump outside the city walls of Jerusalem, the reference to burn forever means that when you are burned, all that is left is ashes, whatever is being burned becomes nothing at all but ashes. Hades is the Greek word for death, Sheol is the Hebrew word for death, some Bibles have replaced the word Hades, and Sheol for Hell, Where that comes from I don't know.

I don't "believe" that...the only thing I believe is that I don't know what it is like. It could be a burning torture pit, it could just be eternal darkness...it could just be death...it may be an eternal place or it may be a temporary storage place.

The only thing I know for sure is that any person who is describing hell to you is, by definition, speculating on something that he or she has never experienced. I don't put a whole lot of faith in the ability of humans to understand or explain their own existence on earth. ...if they can't accurately perceive so much about this existence, how could they possibly perceive an existence they've never experienced?

Me too. Hell is here, on earth, and we have to repeat our time here until we get it right, then we can ascend into Heaven. God is not the hellfire and damnation angry threatening, vengeful God some Christians make Him out to be; He is a kind, loving and forgiving Being Who wants us with Him, not burning in some pit.
I think some Christians enjoy promulgating dark, dire threats and ranting and raving about hell, torture, etc. All bogus, of course; God must be laughing His head off at this foolishness.

Many people believe that---that is why the place was made because God said there was a place like that and the people that say no are anti-God so that's where they will be.

I don't belive in Hell.

How could a father send one of his children to eternal damnation if he/she was good all their life, spread peace and joy everywhere but, didn't worship him EXACTLY the way everyone else said he/she should.

If God is that petty, "which I don't think he is" He wouldn't deserve my adoration.

Me!

Not only is it NOT a Burning Place of EVERLASTING TORTURE, it's not ANYTHING. It doesn't exist.

Unless, of course, you're referring to Hell, Norway. It's quite boring, and living there could be described as torture, but one thing it isn't is a burning place.

Yes.
Even Jesus Christ was deceived into thinking that.
Of course we are much wiser than He.

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." '
