I have saved up for ages a finaly i have got 450 quid for the new playstation 3, but now looking in my wallet im not sure if i should buy it or not.

PS3 has 8 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3x2
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 50 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular DVD (4.7 gb).
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in card reader (except 20 gb version), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 130 $
Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of doom" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.
Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is a uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.
In some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".

Wait until after the Tokyo game show "September 25th". They might be releasing a cheaper 40 gig model and lowering the 80 model price. This isn't confirmed yet tho and the new rumble is back. I really didn't care if they have it or not tho. I am just waiting for the rumored 40gig one they say if it dos release it will cost only 400$ and they will lower the 80 gig to 500$. Remember these are rumors but their really isn't any harm in waiting.

I like the Xbox 360 best but it's failure rate is 33% which really stinks. If PS3 is your platform, go for it :) It's very nice escaping into the world of video games lol.

get an 360, its cheaper and has alot more games to choose from, and if anything, the graphics and gameplay is better then the Ps3.
XBOX 360 ftw.
and to the dude talking about the 360 r.o.d,
that only happened to the older versions of the 360.
from May '06 and lower.

If I were you i would get another $50, so you will have $500. Then you sould buy the 80gb PS3, which is much better than a 60gb PS3.

BUY IT i own a ps3 and i will never regret geting it even if the price drops down to one dollers i wont regret buying it at 400 dollers but would be a little pissed if the price did drop to one doller but i dont ever see taht happening

I would say get a xbox 360 if u dont have one.
I have both but i wish i had not got my ps3 yet as there is no good games out.

If you are second guessing yourself then wait on buying it. In my opinion, I would find much better things to spend the money on. The fact that your hesitating tells me you probably have thought of better ways to spend your hard earned cash. Don't blow your wad until your ready.
