A wire at the back of my braces are poking my cheek and it hurts! The ortho said they had to leave length of extra wire at the back because the it might come off the bracket. How can i make it not poke my cheek without using wax?

Your cheek will get tough after time and it won't bother you as much. But wax is the only other way I'm aware of.

oh my gosh that is cruel telling you to leave it there!!!!!
oh believe me, i've had this happen so many times and my cheeks started swelling and ripping. the wire actually sliced through my cheeks!!! :( it hurt real bad.

so i WANTED to go to the dentist so bad cause i was seriously not being able to eat/brush teeth/talk/smile cause it kept poking my cheeks and "piercing" them!

so they snipped off the wire in a matter of seconds.

just ask them. good luck :D

ahh, the forgotten joys of having braces.... Straight teeth are worth it... call in and tell them it is poking and hurting they will have you come in for like 2 minutes (literally) and snap it off. I never used wax, it was gross to me

The can cut it for you. Just ask. The only possible I can think of is wax.
