...or are you actually burning more calories the more fatigued your muscles get during a run?

Running every day is definitely more healthy than running every five days. And, running every day will burn more calories than running the same distance for five days.

Regardless of the differences highlighted by your 2 previous responders, the greatest benefit for running 1 mile every day for 5 days is simply regularity and consistency.

Taken literally, I think 1 5 mile run produces the most calorie loss due to the extended burning of calories during recovery after you stop. But this is not outweighed by consistency.

Good Luck

I think Rovert is correct, but I wanted to add some to that answer. When you exercise, your body will, for a little while, continue to burn calories at an accelerated rate even after you finish exercising. So by running 5 days instead of 1 day, you get that "bonus burn" 4 extra times.

you should run 3 miles one day
then rest one day
run 1 mile
and the next day run 1 mile
that is the best calorie and aerobic way

if you can run five miles a once why not run it more often. work ur way up to runnning five miles five days a week. I know u can do it if you really want to. this way u will burn utlimately more calories. good luck!!

everytime u go out for a run, your body gets a little bit more used to it
running 5 days would get u in shape and u'll get used to it (this is a way to get better and better)
getting out of that habit will reduce ur efficiency in running
