How I love this verse! It means that I need to look to the word of God, not my own opinions, with regard to how to handle any given situation. And I can always, always find guidance in His word.

And the second part of that, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall make your ways straight? As in all promises, it's true, true, true!!

I spent the "formative" years of my life trying my best to live this verse. In other words, I "trusted" and did not question. My paths were anything but straight! Molestation by the pastor's son, a sister that became a drug user and "fornicator", a best friend that drowned. All unquestionably accepted as "God's Will". Now that I am older, I realize that a "Christian's" requirement of belief without question (i.e. "faith") is just a way of keeping "believers" from asking questions for which there is no answer that makes ANY logical sense.

Well what it means is trust in the Lord, not on ur own understanding, and ur path through life will b clear, and that is what I am doing, and my path is clear so far, but what do I know, I'm just a kid. If ur asking if this path is 4 u, well it is 4 me, but u have 2 make ur own decisions.

LaLa: God is asking for my faith. He wants me to make the decision to allow His spirit to run my life. He will not wrong me in any way.
Today I helped a man who is a Buddhist by practise and in it he told me he was sorry for the aggravating part that was in my way of helping him. I told him," not to concern himself about it, this is where God wants me this moment, today". Lately I've become accustomed to accepting that this is where God wants me! Wherever I am, what ever I am doing it is by Gods decree and grace and I accept that on faith!!! Not intellectual knowledge, but faith, and my faith is not blind I am quite capable of reading with both my eyes and He makes me understand what I read of His word. Bit by bit to be sure, but He isn't going to cram the whole "kit & kaboodle" down my throat. In Proverbs 3:5-6, God is teaching me a little bit more on faith.
So I give it to Him and today I had not got my knickers in a twist over what would seem like an aggravating nothing like I normally would in the past. As far as I was concerned He had put me there for a good reason as teeny & tiny as the reason would seem to me, HE put me there, because I trust and acknowledge Him to make my paths straight and this man who sees a Buddha as the way was helped by God, using me as His servant. Perhaps one day this will help the man come to God?
I don't know, I cannot see it with my own understanding, God can though!

If I want a straight path to walk on, I am being told what I must do. Trust with all my heart and do not cleave to my own understanding. In everything I do, acknowledge God being the one who gave it to me.

It's about having faith in our relationship with the living God.

We acknowledge His Lordship and follow the direction that His Spirit leads us, even if we do not entirely understand or know the reasons. God has proved His love, and we trust in His love for us and others.

It is awesome and amazing how much of a blessing we receive and give to others by simply being obedient to His promptings and direction. I also love the 23rd psalm, which illustrates this even further.

There is warfare going on around us in the unseen world. The target? Your soul. The only protection is for us to acknowledge the existence of God and lean on His plan of salvation to eternal life. If we trust Him, all we need do is walk straight for Him and there will be no wrong decision we could possibly make that He will not, in some way, bless.

I realize that I can not trust or depend on my own sinful, prideful understanding and must lean on the Lord and trust solely in Him. I also realize that if I live my life according to God's will and that if my life brings glory to His name then He will be faithful to direct my paths. Otherwise, I'm on my own and that's a very frightening thought.

By leaning on His understanding I make right choices, by acknowledging Him I live close in His word therefore my paths remain straight.

When I am trying to work through a problem or situation, I can pray to God for wisdom and trust what answers I receive, knowing that God directs my paths. I don't have to try to understand it and figure it out myself because I have God's help.
