Really not too many home rememdies, depends on the dandruff. Witch hazel or seabreeze can help with the itch. If the dandruff is thin, small pieces, try head and shoulders dry scalp, if the dandruff is thicker, chunkier and oily, try selsun blue.

You most likely have seborrheic dermatitis
Suggestions are medicated shampoo, with ingredients ketoconazole (Nizoral), selenium sulfide (Selsun Blue), pyrithione zinc (Head & Shoulders), or tar (Neutrogena T-Gel). Don't brush your hair, which irritates the scalp & increased flakiness.
Ask the pharmacist for an OTC 1% hydrocortisone lotion for the scalp or cream for the face, such as Cortaid or Aveeno, which will usually soothe the irritated area. If it doesn't subside in 3 weeks, consult a dermatologist.

If your problem is caused by dryness, you can help this by washing your hair less frequently. If you currently wash your hair every day, switch to every other day. At first your hair might be oily but after a week or so your scalp will figure it out and you'll be fine.

My dad has the same problem and he uses cider vinegar. His head smells like vinegar for a while, but it really works. Just do it on a weekend when you don't have anywhere else to go.
What he does: wash hair with your normal shampoo and rinse, then adds about 1/4 cup cider vinegar and rubs into hair and scalp, let it sit for a minute or two, then rinse out.

selsum blue won't help you. Vinegar after you have rinsed the shampoo from your hair would probably help. It neutralizes the basic properties of soap.
Also, right before you shower and your hair is greasiest, take the time to massage your scalp and get the oils to really settle into your scalp. The scalp gets very little attention really.
