I work in a hotel in Ireland, like most Irish hotels we do not have ice machines. In our customer information packs it says that you can get ice in the bar, its on the front of the booklet, in big writing. Why dear God why do people go into the bar then come back out to reception and ask where can they get ice? This happens at least fifteen times a day, I could cry.

I think if you mean they will give you ice at the bar, that you should state "Ask at the bar" instead of get ice in the bar.

If you know people are hunting down an ice machine and you don't have them, then clearer instructions would help.

i'm sure most of those travelers are or have been through the states. i work in a hotel as well and a couple things....1) there are ice machinces on every floor (at least) 2) no one reads the information packs - no matter how nice or informative they are!!! people will come down to the desk to ask where the fitness center or pool is and it's not only in the compendium (our information book) AND on the door!! it IS utterly amazing. you might want to put up a nice sign in a pretty frame on the desk! but don't think they will read that either LOL oh hey, maybe when they are checking in & you're teling them about the property you could add that, when you visist our lvely bar feel free to get some ice to take back to your room.
GOOD LUCK!!!
