Could someone please tell me how to change the shutter speed on my camera. I really need help. Thanks.

Fortunately for you, quojoamp is totally wrong. Your camera has the following Exposure Modes: Auto, Program, Tv (Shutter Preferred), Av (Aperture Preferred), Manual and a couple of Custom settings.
In Manual Mode you can set both shutter and aperture. In Av, Aperture Preferred, you set the aperture (aka f-stop) and the camera sets the shutter speed. In Tv, Shutter Preferred, you set the shutter speed and the camera sets the f-stop.

you cant change the shutter speed, its built in, that why when you are buying it you have to check the speed of the shutter before you buy...
