I moved out and was living on my own at age 16. I graduated High school with my class and had my own apartment, car and job.
So it is hard to give an actual age. If you or your child.. (Which ever you are asking for) feel that you/your child are mature and responsible then there are a lot of teen numbers that could be considered acceptable.
Also take into factor the area you live in.. Crime rates, safety, distance to and from movies/concerts.
Good luck, I know it can be a hard thing to figure out.

I went on work experience alone at the age of 15. I had to take a bus which was a 10 minute journey. The first time I went to the cinema on my own, I was 15. I also went there by bus - it was a 20 minute journey.

18, but times have changed since my era, kids are doing everything much earlier now, but I think 18 is still a good age to start venturing out to movies and concerts with friends and not parents.
