You can't. Call the number on the back of the card and ask. Each company has about 100 different plans, at least, so the question is, does YOUR plan cover it.

you can say, 'elective termination of pregnancy'

Maybe you can ask if RU486 is covered? < The abortion pill. If you're lucky & get a decent customer service person, they might know what you're talking about... Or ask for a supervisor...

You should also try looking at your benefit booklet.

You can't - if you want to know whether the procedure is covered, then you need to ask about it specifically. Be prepared that they may have to ask you additional questions - such as whether the life of the mother is at risk, etc. to quote your benefits properly.

(BTW - if you can't say the word out loud over the phone to an anonymous person in a call center, how are you going to discuss it face to face with your medical provider? Just something to think about...)

You can ask them if they cover voluntary termination of pregnancy. That's what a lot of insurance companies refer to it as anyways.

Ask your HR dept. what elective procedures are covered by your insurance plan.

You could also call your local hospital and ask them if it is covered by your plan.
