Oh, Nooo!!! No, no, no, no, no!!! Don't believe that! I can't say exactly WHAT happens after death, but I can say with absolute certainty that this man was not seeing Hell! There are a lot of possibilities ... the very LEAST of which is that his blood pressure could've been through the roof while he was having his attack.
This is what I DO believe; I believe that when you die, your body dies and in some cases your soul lives on. I believe that for the most part when you die you are in the equivalent of a deep sleep ... only you don't have consciousness, and you don't dream. I believe that when Jesus returns and His church meets Him in mid-air, and when everything in the Book of Revelations come to be fulfilled, everyone who has died over the centuries - from Adam and Eve to James Brown - will rise again to meet their judgment. Even those believed lost (from the 'disappeared' in the Spanish countries to the sailors lost at sea ... from those washed away in the Great Flood to those blown to bits on September 11th ... and even those who are cremated) will not be forgotten by God. We will ALL meet Him at this point. The seal on the Book of Life will be broken, and the names in that Book will be read. Your friend's Dad will be among us ... this is my belief, because it's right there in the Bible! If his name is in the Book of Life, that indicates that he either lived a good life or he was forgiven of his sins in the end, and he will live forever. But whoever's name is NOT in the Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire ... that's the Second Death. THAT'S the point in which Hell's fire WILL be felt! Praise the Lord, he's not feeling that now, and he didn't feel it while he was having that heartattack!!!
Here's another thought ... on the off-chance that he WAS seeing Hell ... it's a big possibility that the enemy was messing with him and trying to make him believe something that wasn't true. Again ... I don't necessarily believe that. But if you're still in doubt, pray. I understand that - according to God's own words - if two or more people pray for the same thing at the same time, with earnestness and with belief and faith - He will hear them and He will answer their prayers. The easiest thing is to have faith ... the hardest thing is to hang on to it, especially when you don't get an immediate sign, and you don't see immediate results!
Good luck ... and God bless!!! Stay strong, and don't allow the enemy to place those kinds of doubts in your mind.

There are millions upon millions in Hell right now, all of them wishing they could warn just one person so they don't end up where they are.
Do you think God would allow Himself to be humiliated and tortured to death on a cross if Hell wasn't real?
I know you have questions, but the first thing you need to do is take God at His word, ask Jesus Christ to save you, and begin to obey Him as best you know how.
Here is His promise:
"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life." John 5:24
Pray now, while it seems real to you.
Tomorrow may be too late, when you like most of mankind has been lulled back to sleep.

First of all, Hell is a real place, but it is not a place of fire and caves.
Hell is referred to in at least two ways. First, it is another name for spirit prison, a temporary place in the postmortal world for those who died without a knowledge of the truth or those who were disobedient in mortality. Second, it is the permanent location of Satan and his followers and the sons of perdition, who are not redeemed by the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
Spirit prison is a temporary state in which spirits will be taught the gospel and have the opportunity to repent and accept ordinances of salvation that are performed for them in temples. Those who accept the gospel may dwell in paradise until the Resurrection. After they are resurrected and judged, they will receive the degree of glory of which they are worthy. Those who choose not to repent but who are not sons of perdition will remain in spirit prison until the end of the Millennium, when they will be freed from hell and punishment and be resurrected to a telestial glory.
Those who are not redeemed by the Atonement are in outer darkness, which is the dwelling place of the devil, his angels, and the sons of perdition. Sons of perdition are those who receive "no forgiveness in this world nor in the world to come—having denied the Holy Spirit after having received it, and having denied the Only Begotten Son of the Father, having crucified him unto themselves and put him to an open shame." Such individuals will not inherit a place in any kingdom of glory; for them the conditions of hell remain.

Hell is definitely real, to many stories like the one you just told, I've heard older doctors can tell lots of stories about this sort of thing. There is a book out right now about a man who saw hell, its called 23 minutes in Hell, I read it, it will certianly make you think, I am glad I am saved and going to heaven, I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour and I know that for me to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corith. 5:8, In order to get to Heaven we must be a born again believer, Jesus said in John 3:3 Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of heaven. And in the book of Romans it says that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. All it takes to be saved and born again is to say this sinners prayer believing it with all your heart, just say, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

It is not beyond impossibility, but what is Hell? consider that the fact that God created us from love, to be loved and to love in return, this being the proper order of creation there really should not even be a Hell.
But remember also that to hate God means that you cannot then live in His loving presence as this would be unimaginable pain, and so as satan and the fallen angels rejected Gods love there had to be a place for them to exist outside of this love, this is the true reality of Hell, a place where love is totally absent and where hatred and anger are the norm.
Human beings where never designed for Hell by God in fact He has done all that is possible to keep us from this terrible place, He sent His only Son into the world to save us from Hell.
The final point is this, if we like the fallen angels totally reject the love of God freely offered to us and refuse to love in return, then where is the proper place for us to end up if not that place where love is non existent.

If you have an understanding of the original words for Hell that have been translated into English you will know that it is not quite what people IMAGINE. You have words like Sheol and Hades which refers to places of the dead. Graves even. Then you have Gehenna which refer to the Valley of Hinnom outside the walls of Jerusalem where they kept the fires burning for the rubbish of the city of Jerusalem. Sometimes, it is thought, bodies of unclaimed dead went into those fires. People Jesus spoke to would know exactly what he was talking about.

Here is a website that tells the story by a doctor who was an atheist and seen many people die who were resecitated and saw hell:
http://www.amightywind.com/hell/testimonies.htm
Because of this he became a christian.
People do not go to hell for being bad, people go to hell for not accepting Jesus.

No, I don't believe that he saw Hell. The brain can do some funny things when it's under stress, and people who are oxygen deprived (which could be very likely in that situation) have been known to hallucinate.
Hope this helps.

There have been many near death experiences, where a person caught a glimpse of heaven or hell. Hell was created for the devil and the fallen angels, but unbelievers will go there also.

I believe that hell is a real place that all people go unless they have accepted Jesus. We all deserve hell because none of us are righteous; the only way around this is to have someone else pay what we owe --- and that is Jesus.
My parents, too, have a friend who had a near death experience and went to hell. If you'll google NDE and hell, you'll come up with quite a lot of websites. I certainly can't vouch for all of the websites (or any, really) but it's interesting reading. My parents' friend said that hell 'smelled like a million toilets'. Unfortunately, that's all I know since I've never gotten to talk to him about it (this is what my mom told me). This rings true to me since sin actually has a smell, and if you do any readings about excorcisms, people who are 'possessed' often emit a terrible odor that people say is not a human smell.
