Could they use the same resources that taxpayers provide for illegals for this purpose?

No it isn't against the law Americans even started it. People did it during the depression.
In recent years haven't you seen people standing on a corner with signs that say "work for food" some just give them money or hire them and pay them. Some areas are in highly demand that one has to buy a franchise for.
I have been saying for a long time if American were to do that things would change in a real hurry.
Most illegals do very good anywhere from $10 to 25 an hour.
You can also pay taxes. One doesn't have to until after $600.
Government doesn't care who pays the taxes. One may not choose to pay taxes that is okay.
As someone else said I also would hire a US citizen day labor.
Many people are getting fed up with Mexican labors in all fields.
I do hope this movement starts.

It would be legal and tolerated if citizens did this. The thing is that citizens able and willing to do manual labor of this kind can almost always find steady jobs.

good question. reminds me of the scene in the movie FUN WITH DICK AND JANE where jim carey plays a down and out unemployed anglo who joins the illegal alien work pool . the answer is probably no and would be labeled a homeless person living under a bridge and standing on a corner asking for food.

Not only is it legal, it is preferred!
I would pick up any American citizen willing to do a hard days work before anyone else.
Anyone that would hire an illegal first is part of the problem.

Not sure. But what I want to know is will I get in trouble if I don't pay my income tax. Why are illegals allowed to get paid under the table.

What a great idea. This way you can avoid paying income taxes. And the employer has a field day as well. He doesn't have to pay into social security for you.

A black man in New Orleans did go to one of the corners where illegals hang out so he could get hired to rebuild his city. That is sad.

Have you ever needed to get a TB screening to volunteer somewhere and had to go to a clinic? Did you feel welcome?

Personally, I think that has a lot to do with the 'jobs Americans won't do' issue.

Good idea. But...a lot of them around here mow lawns, and one day a black man came by and offered to mow their lawns and they refused, they thought it rather funny. But when my landlords grandson came and mowed our lawn one day, they started acting hostile toward him like they were going to intimidate him so he wouldn't come back. They had no idea he was her grandson. They had been trying to get her to hire them for a long time to mow our lawn. What I'm saying is, they would probably be hostile to anyone they thought was trying to move in on what they consider 'THEIR' territory.

The illegals would outnumber anyone trying to move in. They don't abide by US laws, so no way to know what they would do.
