Just about every religion on earth is here in America.

Most Americans would say they are Christians, but this means different things to different people. For some it means spiritual but not religious, no church. For others it means very religious. There are many different kinds of Christianity.

I am Jewish. There are about 5 million Jews in America. We are a very small amount of the total population of people in the USA.

What Jews believe you can read here very fast and easily. It is not the same as Christianity in any way:

Well, all so called'americans' dont have the same belief,so u cant really stereotype everyone into one category..But,the majority claim christian, which i personally,am not. I myself am hebrew israelite and do not claim a 'religion' cause that word is made up..I live the way of life that was supposed to be lived from the beginning. So many change with the times, but those that are set apart arent supposed to change or conform with this babylonian world,so i try my best not to,and to continue to live the way it was meant..I only heed words pertaining to the hebrew scripture, cause thats the only language that was spoken at first. And the NT is so far apart from the OT,and it contradicts what the God of Israel spoke, and i know its only 1 God and he stays the same, the NT speaks of another god other than the God of Israel..so therefore, i believe in the God of Israel, the God that was in the beginning, and still is..Shalom

Most Americans will say they are Christian, and most Americans do not go to church, therefore most Christians do not go to church. If they did, the church wouldn't have enough room for everyone.

Just as there are many types of trees in this world, there are many types of Christians. Christianity is split into three major branches: Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestant. Protestantism has even more splits, and Christianity altogether has about 25 thousand splits, most of them being in the Protestant branch. Most American Christians are Protestants of one sort or another.

I am a Bahá'í. We believe in the same God as the Jews, Christians and Muslims. It began in May 1844 Iran, and is the youngest of the monotheistic religions. Monotheism is belief in one God, so a monotheistic religions is one that believes in one God.

The Prophet-Founder of Judaism is Moses. The Prophet-Founder of Christianity is Jesus. The Prophet-Founder of Islam is Muhammad. So, the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith is Baha'u'llah.

The Bahá'í Faith has its own holy writings, its own calendar, its own holy days. We accept the Bahá'í holy writings, the Bibe and the Qur'an as the word of God. We are in over 250 countries and territories around the globe. There are only 70 million Bahá'ís world-wide, but we are the most geographically wide spread religion on Earth.

The United States has a larger mixture of religions. If people believe it, then you will find it in America. It has not "national religion".

The most common religion is Christianity, and the majority of those are Protestant rather then Catholic.

(And your English is better then many of the Americans who post on this site.)

America houses people with literally EVERY type of belief you have ever heard of.
The majority of people in America believe in God, according to poles. I guess most people are Christian, at least by birth and tradition. Most of the "Christians" here don't really believe/have their own relationship with God, I think. They treat it like a ritual.

But yes, most people believe in Jesus/Christianity here., just according to specifics. But they think Jesus wants you to be rich :) There are just SO many people and different cultures here. There are millions of everybody. Although Christianity is really big, the others are also thriving.

Evangelical Christian. This is a uniquely American type of Christianity which grew out of the tent revival meetings that began in the 1800s.
Miracles, healing, deliverance, exorcism....all are part of the Evangelical style.
Catholics and mainstream Protestants are very conservative, spiritually, compared to a miracle believing Baptist or Pentecostal.

I am Mormon. I go to church on Sundays. I keep my satandards high. I don't smoke, drink, swear, or dress immodestly. I love the Church. It helps me get through my life, however pathetic it may be. We pray to Heavenly Father daily, and we try to preach the gospel to as many as we can. We do baptisms for the dead (we get baptized for people who didn't get the opporunity to learn the gospel). We Be the best we can be. I try to be an example as much as possible to my fellow students at my middle school. They might not believe my religion, but they know that Mormons are great people.
I KNOW the church is true.
For there is one God, and one true Church.
And I know that it is true.
I don't believe. I know.

Thanks for asking. I have no "best friend" Mormons to discuss this with. But it gives me a great missionary opportunity!

American religious beliefs, are EVERYONE's religious beliefs. Our constitution guarantees "FREEDOM OF RELIGION" so no matter your belief system, you are allowed to pursue it in the USA as long as it doesn't harm any other citizens. (certain caniballistic death religions need not apply).

The USA is not a theocracy, (although our money says, "In God we Trust") in that there is a definite separation of Church and State. We are a nation of individuals who elect individuals to lead us. We try to pick the ones who will best lead us regardless of their personal belief systems.

One great thing about being American is we are allowed to believe what we want.
I am a Christian, I believe we are all born sinners and the only way to heaven is to be clean. So therefore God sent his one and only son Jesus to die for our sins so that we could all have a chance of going to heaven. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead 3 days later. I believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and the only way to heaven is through Him.
Thank you Jesus!
