This situation is totally dependent on the individual state laws made by individual state governments, and what your state of residence allows. You need to contact your local Police or Sheriff's Department to determine if in fact it is legal where you live. I think you will find that a majority of states will not allow "loaded" firearms of any kind regardless in plain view or not, without a permit to do so. Again, check with your local police or authorities to be sure.....

It varies from state to state.
Here in Mississippi, an automobile is considered an extension of one's home. Therefore, a person who is not legally barred from owning a handgun, may legally carry a loaded handgun, concealed or open, in their automobile.
And by law, rifles, or shotguns with barrels longer than the legal minimum or 16" (rifles) and 18.5" (shotguns) may not be considered concealed weapons. If the rifles or shotguns are loaded, the Game Wardens might give you grief, but it is legal to have the guns.

Im many states, your car is considered an extension of your house, and you can have guns in your car, even loaded. To keep out of trouble, verify this with your state and local authorities.

depends where you are at. i have atleast one loaded revolver in my truck at all times. if you can't keep it loaded (handgun) then keep it at home. better not to have one then to have one that doesn't work when you do need it. if you have a rifle in the vechile you almost always have to have it unloaded.
