One of the differences between man and animals is that man can think abstractly. A man can know that London is there, even though he's never been there, but a dog can know only what he has seen, tasted, or touched. What is the cause of this difference?

It's called a soul. The one that makes some people capable of dancing. The one created by the Father as us in His image. We share many things with this world and its various creatures. Even with elements. But none are like us.

We don't fully understand the way animals think, because all we can do is measure their intelligence compared to ours, and it's not going to be like ours. Dolphins, for instance, do understand abstract concepts, but it is hard to demonstrate. It's very possible they are more intelligent than we are. Certainly their relationships have been observed as being as complex as our own.

It is the only difference from man and any other animal or matter in this planet/sea. Men/women are created to have the ability to process information in their brain but animal aren't..

Brain.

We have no way to communicate (words) with brainy animals and see what they know and think and have to extrapolate and guess but it seems that dolphins and chimpanzees can think abstractly.

The difference is that we have reasoning skills and imagination. Just two unique properties of being made in God's image.
