You should be able to keep that frosting in your cabinet for 20 years and still find it usable.
Once opened, you need to refrigerate it, and use in a short period of time, but in the original sealed container, it should outlive a Twinkie.

i think it's the same as twinkies forever!!!!!!!!!LOL! but seriousl, i have had frostings in my cabinet for 6 months and it was still good so i'm not quite sure how long but i think longer than 6 months
there should be a date on the lid or the bottom hmmm ... now i got to see this the next time i go shopping : )

Did you know that only a few products (I think milk and meat) are actually required to have expiration dates. Companies do it as a courtesy.

It has so many chemicals in it, it probably has a shelf life of a hundred years! But, once opened, you can keep it in the refrig. for about a week without it tasting bad.

It has chemicals in it to preserve it forever untill it is opened or exposed to air, next time just make our own it's super easy and makes your cake taste so much better.
