Claiming self defense isn't an instant out anymore. If someone enters your property and injures themselves by tripping over a power cord, they can sue YOU for failure to clearly mark and identify a potential hazard.

For instance if you shoot someone and it was ruled as self defense and you get off free, the person you shot can turn around and sue you for any injury stemming from the bullet.

If you want to defend yourself, secure your entry ways/exits, monitor your surroundings, and change your routine often so that you are not predictable. Guns are not the only answer and inflicting death definitely isn't. You could try a tazer or pepper spray or even a blunt object.

I assume you mean a handgun. You must be twenty-one with no felony convictions and no history of mental illness. As for shooting someone, (whether on your property or not) you could be charged with murder.

i think you have to over 18 to own a licence for firearm. and you have to get the licence from your local police station as long as they accept your application which you will have to fill in there and then.

if you killed someone, youd go to prison and get licence taken off you.
