Would you rather have a yard sale and make a few bucks off your children's clothing they have out grown or give it to family members who have children that age. Assuming the family member would not be offended, and would use them.

I would rather pass them down to someone I know could use them.

Normally I would rather pass them down, but if I was broke I would not feel guilty about selling them either.

I would rather pass them on to family members. My hand-me-downs were the best clothes I had when I was growing up. New clothes were hard to come by. Money was tight. I think your heart is in the right place when you say you would rather pass them down to someone you know could use them. A star for you!!!

If the person really needs them, you should give them away. But if otherwise, there's no shame in selling them. By selling them cheap at a yard sale or on craigslist.com, you could be helping someone else who needs to buy some kids clothes and doesn't have money for expensive new ones.

I think you should just take it up with your relative. I doubt they know you're offended for not handing down clothing.

Personally, I trade in the clothes I can at a local resale shop, and donate the rest, but there are no kids to pass clothes down to.

Perhaps if they really want to sell them, they'd agree to pass down to you whatever doesn't sell? Just a thought.

I would rather pass them down, knowing they're going to get used. If there is noone to use the clothes, then by all means, have the yard sale!

Me personally i would give it away. I see the the things that one NEEDS as something that one should give away. Things at a yard sale are things that privleges...toys and furniture and what not. However children and people NEED clothing and i would have a hard time taking money for something that some one NEEDS vereses WANTS.

I would give the clothes that are in the best shape to my family members and sell the rest

Most clothing that our kids use arent worth giving to anyone. They're really rough on their things. They do make good rags.
If it's something like their good clothing,we do pass it down to family or donate it to the Goodwill.

you are really taken away by this uh....I guess I would first ask the person if she would want them - because some people do get offended- and if they say no I would sell them, if they say yes I would gladly pass them on. You need to stop it, you will only get more angry at those relatives. Just leave it that way.
