Any place that doesn't put family or it's employees first is no place I want to work. Quit and then find another job after the honeymoon. That way you won't have the guilt of going to work on your wedding day!

Why would you take the honeymoon before the wedding? That doesn't make sense. The purpose of the honeymoon is the relax and enjoy being married. If you take a honeymoon before the wedding, it's just called a vacation. And if my work wasn't allowing me to take off for my wedding, I'd quit and find a new one.

Why won't they let you have Christmas off?
Most places I have worked you take turns with other people in your department for major holidays. In that case you can always speak to whoever did get the vacation time about a trade off or, just wait until next Christmas.

thats a crappy job... my place of work allows us to take time that we need off (as long as the request is put in at least 2 weeks prior)... I say talk to them. I hope you haven't booked anything for Christmas and lost your deposit... anyways Congratulations on your wedding!

Well...I hate to sound mean, but...I used to be in management, in a retail store, and since Christmas was our biggest season, we didn't allow anybody to take time off from November to February, for any reason. Folks didn't like that much, but it was the nature of working retail, and nobody made them take the job...
Did you check with your job before you made your plans? It really is your responsibility to have your manager's approval prior to taking/planning time off. If you don't, unfortunately things like this can happen...
I'm really sorry...Such a drag. I truly do hope you have a lovely wedding, regardless! Congratulations!

It isn't right, but did you find out WHY he won't let you off?
Perhaps its because too many people already have off.
Did you tell him it was for your wedding?
