not at all...it does promise to help us avoid certain kinds of self-inflicted pain but it doesn't promise that we won't be hurt by other people or that we won't suffer losses caused by circumstances beyond our control.
Grief is part of the normal healing process...of course it is ok...God doesn't want us to remain damaged. He wants to heal us of our wounds and grief is a natural step toward ultimate healing.

Nope. The Gospel doesn't promise a pain-free journey. It actually says the opposite. We are going to experience trials and tribulations that test our faith. That can literally be anything from an adulterous spouse to the death of a loved one to persecution for our beliefs. And it is most certainly ok to experience pain and grieve. Even God has grieved over us.
May God bless you.

Scripture says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord ( 2 Cor. 5:8). You will pass from this life to the next in a blink of an eye. I believe once you are in the presence of the Lord there is no more pain, grief, or sorrow etc. Those things are only of this world not in Heaven. In this life you have no choice but to experience pain or loss to grieve but the bible says the things of this world is temporary and Heaven is everlasting.

Christians WILL experience the things that other people experience. The difference should be in how it's handled.
John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world.
Besides which, the grief of losing someone - though experienced - should be swallowed up by the knowledge that we will see them again.
1Thessalonians 4:13 Now also we would not have you ignorant, brethren, about those who fall asleep [in death], that you may not grieve [for them] as the rest do who have no hope [beyond the grave].
1Thessalonians 4:14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him through Jesus those who have fallen asleep [in death].

The gospel does NOT promise a pain-free journey on earth. To think so is idolatry, because it turns the living God of the universe into some big aspirin in the sky who's supposed to take away all our existential hurts and make our physical lives easy and conflict-free.
This false doctrine -- that if you're following Jesus as you should, you will never feel unhappy about anything -- has led to the apostasy of many newby believers. I've seen it myself over and over.

Far from it. God never promised that we would live a pain free life. As a matter of fact, Jesus said that those who followed Him would be persecuted for His sake. What the bible does promise is that God will be with us. Most often when we go through trial and tribulation and we are walking with the Lord Jesus Christ, we come out stronger than we ever were before and we can look back and see where God got us through that experience.

Suffering and pain are catalysts to self realization. Without suffering and pain, most people would never challenge their own ignorances. Remember that early christians took great pain and suffering, many were martyred for not giving up their belief's.
One should deal with pain and success with the same contempt. Peace from the gospels comes from being disturbed by neither physical/mental pain or physical/mental joy. Water can crash or flow, it can fit any shape or become a vapour. Nothing can disturb water unless it stops moving, then it becomes ice. If one's response to pain or joy is to become bitter or arrogantly overconfident, then one's soul becomes hard like water turning to ice. Peace is motion in rest. Accept the pain and joy of life, and use it to search for answers to one's questions about one's true self. That is my opinion.

No it does not. In fact the opposite is true. Grieving is essential for the mental health of human beings. Yet Christians do not grieve as does the world.
"In this world ye shall have tribulation".

You have no promise of a pain free life.
You're not one of those kids who didn't magically get a bat mobile when he was young and got made at God for not answering your prayers are you?
Life is not pain free.
Prayers are not always answered the way you like.
And satan will try and sway you to his will.
It's up to you how you wish to live.

we will all experience pain and loss. Christian or otherwise. it is often through our trials that we have the ability to grow and progress the most. and their has to be opposition in all things. without pain and misery we could never know and experience joy. whether in this life or the next.
