Why is the legal age to have sex 16?

this is the age the government in there wisdom decided was the age and that is the only reason

errr to whoever said there's mingers over here in the UK stfu, thats like me saying theres tons of fat kids in america!
anyway :D haha its because the government decided that the teens here would be mentally and physically ready at the age of 16. i'm sure theres also another country where the age limit is really low like 14 or something, so it is all based on the government and what they feel is best.

Well because the government think that this is when a child is emotionally ready for sex and also a time where the body won't be damaged as much. If you have sex when you're 13 then you could damage your uterus/vagina so at 16 your body is more developed.

I melancholy once I see 20 12 months olds performing worse than spoilt brats devoid of morals, discipline or order. allowing sixteen 12 months olds the status of person is like putting a baby of 5 on my own in a candy save all day and being instructed he / she won't be able to eat a single considered one of them . maximum folk of sixteen 12 months olds are irresponsible and absence the adulthood to take on the accountability of an person. If the rustic is going any further into the abyss with its loss of discipline and morals and helps this to ensue, we can be nicely on the line to a self imposed armageddon.

Should be raised in my opinion. 16 year olds are irresponsible little twits responsible for the rise in STI's with their candid and irresponsible approach to sex. And don't even get me started on teenage pregnancies!!!

Well it cant be any lower because women need time to develop their pelvis.... sex too young does actually raise the risk of cervix cancer!!! Thats why if your a virgin you dont need to go for a smear.

Any higher would be silly cos the teens round here are at it like rabbits.

Who knows does seem strange that it doesn't match with driving or voting or even getting married or buying adult magazines but perfectly able to perform anything they could possible see in them in real life
