Not me. He could do well in a struggling team like Columbus or Phoenix. Help bring along some of the youngsters, using Darren in a limited role.
I loved the "Grind Line" of McCarty, Draper, Maltby (or Kocur)
of the late '90s, but those days are past (although an autographed '97 stanley cup photo of the line still graces my office wall). Babcock isn't Bowman - by a long stretch - and wouldn't/couldn't put the "old grind line" out with any regularity. Darren's lost a lot of speed and has become highly injury-prone. Plus all his off-ice distractions (divorce, his band "Grinder", bankruptcy filing) appear to have taken their toll as well.

Well seeing as he hasn't been a Flame since their season finished and hasn't signed with anyone yet, the Wings can have him but I doubt they'll take him! Maybe he would be better back in a Detroit uniform but as a Flame, he wasn't worth the money he made! He was good for the community and as a spokesperson but better off the ice then on IMO. Not to mention all the injuries he suffered and surgery he had last season. I would be surprised to see him play in the NHL again.

one million. not likely a YAY!!!, yet we choose length even on the rate of speed, like interior the wings -geese sequence. Plus he's way less high priced sufficient and the "authentic" difficult adult men are too costly for the wings, they are going into camp over the cap. 2. definite he's authentic, yet Berts interest wont contain being a speedster, hes not a series-up guy. permit the babies do the skating. 3. purely like helm, Drapes might make up for Berts loss of speed. 4. Switching from in-line goalie (ok i'm going to call it "curler" hockey) to ice I went to the boards to get better a sell off-in and there replaced right into a forward coming quickly, so I skated as quickly as i'd desire to, we met the %. on an identical time and fairly I checked him into the boards and then fell down. Nascar is like golfing, its an interest that demands ability. If a 60 365 days previous can do it, it not basically a manly interest. i'm an off-the-cuff fan nonetheless.

Detroit doesn't need another washed up grinder. We have plenty of grinders, not enough scorers. I love McCarty, too, but if you sign him you may as well sign Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay, too. Can't build a team on the past. Detroit needs to look forward. They particularly need more scoring depth.

Bob Babcock is not a McCarty fan, so you are probably the only person who believes this.
But hey, he's a free agent, he has no team...so anybody can sign him

I DO!!!!! He's my favorite wing, and I freakin hate that he plays for calgary. I would love to see him back.
Is this just a hypothetical question, or is this new news? Are the wings thinking about signing him again?
