Go down to human nature on the Christian side.
It is because of free will.

There are three heavens that are mentioned in the scripture.
One is the realm of where the earth, sun, moon, and stars and other heavenly bodies occupy.
One is that place that spirits dwell that are not filled with the Spirit of God. This area is where principalities, powers and other spiritual beings dwell.
Then there is the Heavens that hold the Lord and all those who are filled with his Spirit.
Satan occupies the second heaven and has the ability to come and go to influence the earth. It is here where he accuses the Saints day and night.
The tabernacle was a shadow of the heavenly and we can see heaven's layout by looking at the tabernacle.
There is the tent of meeting for the congregation to come and go as they needed.
There was the holy place where the priests sacrificed the animals and washed and cooked the sacrifice and prayed and worshipped the Lord.
Then there was the Holy of Holies, where the mercy seat of God was. This is where the glory of God was seen and where the high priest went in to offer the blood. No one else could enter into this place, but the high priest.

Yes, angels are free moral agents also and can sin. Many did follow Satan. None of God's intelligent creations whether humans or angels are forced to obey without free will. (Jude 6) And the angels that did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place he has reserved with eternal bonds under dense darkness for the judgment of the great day. Satan was in heaven still the following centuries after Eden. (Job 1:6) Now it came to be the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and even Satan proceeded to enter right among them. We know that today Satan has been cast out of heaven and is bringing great woe for the earth. Revelation 12:7-9

First off, free will doesn't equal sin (i.e. you have free will to do good toward others). Satan did have free will along with all the other angels and he exalted himself above God. He was cast down from heaven because God cannot be around sin.

Yeap a valid point, or would be if you took your time to express it in a more understandable fashion.
Consider: God made the angels and they rebelled, so he tried again, but set up the situation to allow humans to rebel. Does this make sense for a rational god to do?

in Islam, Satan was close of Allah (God) he Praised Allah a lot, and he was not angel but jin (its a creature of fire)
when Allah formed Adam (first human) Allah asked all jins and angels to bow at him as humans are the best creation of Allah
Satan (named Iblees in Islam) refused saying that i have praised u so much, and Adam will bring nothing but chaos
Allah told him to leave but Satan asked for time till the Day of Judgement to deceive humans (muslims off coarse) so that he can prove his point, but Allah knew that humans will be on the right path
Adam and Eve were left in heaven not to eat a fruit but Satan through Eve forced Adam (satan lied saying that they will live for ever and one more point) to eat the forbidden fruit,
Allah mian got angry and as a result sent them to Earth, in Quran (muslim religious book) it is said that Allah mian made the world in 6 days,
anyways i'm a happy muslim, not many confusions abt Islam cuz i try to learn abt it from the real source, NOT FOLLOW stupid ppl to blow myself up :)
So stay on the right path away from Mr Satan, he and his subordinates are always on the hunt for people to make them not believe them in Allah (God)
our world is very weird, it makes us think that its everything there is to this universe, but if u read Quran there is another story to this riddle
Salam (Peace)
