Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Halloween, wear Halloween costumes or attend any party where we are to wear costumes.

We believe celebrating this holiday gets us involved in spiritism, practices that come from false religion, association with people who have ways and beliefs God does not approve of. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12; Ephesians 5:10,11; 2 Corinthian 6:14-18; 1 Corinthians 13:6; Exodus 32:4-10; 1 Samuel 28:8-10)

My religion has no specific tenets about Halloween. I regard it as a Hallmark Holiday (candy and cards) and lots of fun.

If you have not seen it before, check out Meet Me in St. Louis with Judy Garland. It depicts a Late Victorian Halloween that is very different than our moder one. The Christmas scenes are famous as well.

My church is cool with it. We often have Halloween parties for the kids. I think it's mostly just the Fundamentalist types who get upset about it. Usually, I go help out at charity fundraisers every year at Halloween, and have fun getting a costume together (although I have no idea what I'm going to wear this year).

I love Halloween too! I'm a Christian, but scary stuff and horror doesn't bother me one bit. As for the costume, I don't know. Along what lines were you thinking? (Scary, funny, sleazy, etc.)

Halloween is my favorite holiday too! There have been years when our minister has urged everyone to wear a costume to church on Sunday!

Here are some costume ideas for you - that have been some of MY favorites from years past...

Chiquita Banana Lady with a bowl of fruit on your head - and a ruffley dress.

The Queen of the Latrine! Make a skirt out of 4 of those rug-like toilet seat covers, make a cape out of a shower curtain, make some earrings out of those suction cups that hold the soap, a necklace out of some pipes, hang some tidy bowl from your waist, make a crown out of rolls of toilet paper - and use a toilet brush for your septer. If you have a King with you - he can have a plunger as his septer.

A shooting star. Get big peices of lightweight foam - or even poster board (preferably yellow, silver or gold) and cut out big stars - strap them together - and wear them like a sandwich board. Get a squirt gun. Easy!!!

Or - you can get a bunch of those fake fall leaves and make a big head wreath with them. Use the leaf garland as a "boa" - and get a cheap earth tone dress and glue individual leaves all over it. (glue guns work great!) When people ask you what you are - say - "Have you heard of Queen Latifa?" (yes) "Well I'm better than her - I'm Queen Da Leafa!!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

It is one of my absolute favorites as well!! I cannot wait until fall and all this hot weather goes away! As far as my religion, we see it as a big fall festival type of thing. ( I am a protestant Christian...Baptist to be more accurate) I dress up, as well as my husband and kids, we go trick or treating and we go to the fall festival at church after wards where they have prizes and candy and such. I love to be scared too!! All the good scary movies come on t.v. and my husband and I break out the old Halloween and Friday the 13th movies and watch them late at night...spooky!! :)

My religion celebrates Halloween. It is one of my favorite days. Dress as a witch-21st century style.

For females, it's easy: just take any profession in the world, put either "naughty" or "sexy" in front of it, and there ya go.

Naughty Recycling Plant Administrator. See, a chick could pull that off 100% of the time.

my church thinks its silly that people dress up as evil beings. they take it as a sign that the devil has a hold of us.

i think of halloween as a kids activity, i haven't gotten excited over it in 15years.
