Is there a place to go look this up? Has anyone heard of this SpyHunter's SpamBlocker Utility? I tried to download Windows Defender and I can't do that either. I can't afford a good antivirus program right now. I am using AVG antivirus right now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

AVG is a good anti-virus program. Free does not imply substandard, nor does paying for A/V software assure that you'll get more than you will from a free program.

Anyway, since you have AVG, if you're concerned about a program that you've downloaded, right click on the setup program icon and you'll see that'll you'll be given the option to have AVG scan the program for viruses before you run the installation.

You are using one of the better free virus scanners.

There are no free scanners that are as good as purchased ones.

I have many times had to clean up and sometimes re-install computer systems due to the fact people were running free scanners.

The free ones are goood up to a point.

They do not provide technical support.

The purchased one do; if you have some malware which a purchased scanner cannot handle, you contact the developer and they usually have it fixed within 1 to 3 hours.

You do not get that with free scanners.

If you want free a spam blocker, try using Yahoo Mail or Hotmail.

They both provide above average spam blocking and they also do a primary virus scan on all attachments.

Good Luck.

That's a good one you are using. Always read website reviews on programs such as download.com. That's what I always do. Only run one anti virus and about 2-3 anti spywares. I've heard bad things about spyhunter, so try to avoid them. Get Superantispyware and Spyware Terminator. Terminator has real time protection. Good luck.

Hi,
Just scan them with "AVG" first, but please remember this "there is no such thing as an easy buck it's just that some people make them easier then others" if it sound to good to be true it usual is, free Software does is not worth anything that's why they give it away.
