..I spend a lot of time in front of a computer at work..about 13 hrs a day....and I find myself squinting and cheating during the eye exam at the DMV, but I don't think I need glasses.

Aha....YOU don't think you need glasses. The DMV screening is NOT an eye exam. You need an eye exam once a year. The part that determines if you need glasses or not is a very small part of your yearly exam. So, there are other health issues that need to be addressed! GOGOGOGOGO to the doctor!

Computers can put your eyes under strain. If you are squinting your eyes are having a difficult time focusing. My son was squinting and getting headaches so I took him to the eye doctor and he had astigmatism in both eyes and needed glasses. I would get a eye exam to see if you need glasses or not. I honestly do not no how frequently you should have a eye exam I take my son once a year. Hope I helped a little.

you should get an eye exam every year. even if u dont need glasses, the eye doctor checks the health of ur eyes. and if u are squinting it probably means you might have to get glasses. your prescription might be mild, but still if u dont wear glasses for it ur eyes might just get even worse from straining them. my advice is go to have an eye exam

on a regular basis, i would say either every 6 months or once a year. But since you mention that you work infront of a computer for 13hrs a day and squinting, i think you should check your eyes as soon as you have the time.

Every two years is fine, for most adults.
In the UK if you are mainly on the computer at work, your employer is required to pay for an annual check.

And if you are having to work at a DMV check, you need one now. You are vastly more likely to to die due to a motor vehicle than due to Al-Qaeda.

You should get them checked at least once a year but if you're an older person, it's not a bad idea to get them checked more often. Glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts are more common in older people.

At least one a year, unless you have problems. If problems, then you might need to go more often.
