my wife decided to take jesus into her heart and have her name taken off the mormon role. ..

however, her parents have basically disowned her and have blamed me for her actions, which baffles my mind to begin with.. her dad drinks a gallon of coca cola a day and her mom does not wear her temple panties...

should we try to smooth things over with them and get them back into our lives or should we go on without them?

God had to have given your wife great courage to take that step of Faith... Praise The Lord indeed... the future of any "relationship" with her family is entirely up to them... as ones of The Faith you are to keep yourselves separated from the functions of that cult... but you may still keep contact with family if you wish... unless there is great force, by the forces of evil, being applied against you in doing so.... All of those I have known who took such a step have remained mostly separated from the mormon family members... by the choice of the mormons.... the Lost and Deceived by Satan... are so hardened that it is near imposable to break their bonds of deception. Your wife is very fortunate that some how she came to know The Truth and God gave her the strength to do what had to be done to free herself.

Praise God!

Unfortunately the disowning is a common problem. I know this from personal experience. All you can do is pray that they will come around. My parents did. Not only that, my parents gave up mormonism and got saved!

Keep praying for them! You are in my prayers.

Probably disowned you, rather than her.

Coca Cola is not forbidden, and how DO you know that her mother does not wear temple garments??? THAT is an interesting question.

You are not going to have to answer to them when the day comes.

Congratulations to your wife and to you for bringing another soul to the altar of forever.

I have been working on my wife. Well get there.

Try and smooth things over with them while staying firm in your beliefs, Sometimes these things take time.

First of all, AMEN!!!!!!!!!!

Second, let it be for a little while, then go back and try to form a relationship with them again. It is their daughter, I would think they would settle down once they got use to it. Who knows, maybe they can meet Jesus to!

If after you try, let it be. It is their choice, not yours. Let them stay away, don't ask them to stay away.
