It makes it seem God is hypersensitive and egotistical, needing praise, though he is all powerful.
Why is the first commandment to love him with all your heart, mind and soul - how do you love someone you have read about in a book? It is like loving someone you have read of in a novel - they don't talk to you and communicate with you either and you can't get to know them.

I think you're right. I mean communication is a two-way street and in the case of worshippers, it seems to be only one way! Besides, Why would an all-powerful God need praise at all anyway? I don't see any rational reason why. We cannot love someone we don't know, that is just unnatural! People might pretend all they want that they love God, the truth is, they love the projection of what they think God is and that is nothing but fantasy!

Also, people stupidly say that the reason God created us is because he loves us. Can you see how silly that is? We do not exist and already God loves us and that's why he creates us!

If you research the origin of prayers and worship, you'll come to understand that since primitive man thought of god or gods to be forces of nature (Sun, Thunder, Storm etc), then they thought by praying (which was begging), the gods will look good on them and not make them perish or destroy their crops, vegetations etc. So they had to sacrifice, pray and worship for favour. The sacrifice part has now been left out but people keep praying and worshipping an entity whose nature they totally ignore.

I think, we should stop projecting human attributes (speech, ear, heart, etc) to the ultimate cause of existence. If a horse were to describe its God, it would most probably give it horse attributes and if every living species on this planet, including man, projects their attributes to their "god-projection", then that surely cannot be the ultimate God. It's nothing but fantasy and pure imagination!

Even fallible human beings who are worshipped and praised do react to the worshippers one way or the other and people have a vivid picture of who that King or Queen is, but the God of religion seems to not give a crap about his worshippers!!!

That shows that that God is nothing but the product of human imagination and yearning who wants to assure for himself a good and happy afterlife (Hail Osiris! yeah right)

First off He is God..
Everyone knows that you worship a god or gods..
Blasphemy is so unforgivable because you are ignoring your creator and some changes in your life and this world are going to take place and he wants to advise you of them before they do.
#1 You, (we) are going to die.
#2 There is an afterlife and you need to be prepared for the changes.
#3 God wants you in heaven with Him and you get to choose.
#4 The blasphemy is ignoring the Holy Spirit, that is here to talk to you and you can get to know him personally. If you were a Christian you would understand perfectly, but since you aren't you will have to wait until you are and then he will talk to you all the time..

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable via undeniable fact that in case you do not have faith interior the Holy Spirit there is not any way which you will properly be convicted and pulled to a relationship with God and Jesus. no person is composed of the father different than individuals that are drawn through His Spirit.

I loved God way before I knew how to read. I've grown in my love and faith for God without benefit of reading the Bible from beginning to end. I love God with my whole heart and my whole soul, not because I was ordered to by anybody. I love God because of all He has given us. That doesnt mean material things. I didnt stop loving God because I was injured or hurt in some way by another human being. God helped me to get through everything I have encountered in my life. In other words,it's not necessary to worship God. It's also not unforgivable to blaspheme. God loves us with our faults and He forgives us our transgressions. It's obvious you are not a believer, or you wouldnt have asked this question. You have every right not to believe, just as I have the right to believe.

God isn't hypersensitive or in need of praise all the time. He just wants a little respect and acknowledgement from his children from time to time. And nothing is unforgivable.

God did not make us like robots. It would have been so easy to make us where we just automatically loved Him. But that is not what He wants. God wants us to truly love Him, with all that we have. We should love Him and worship Him because He created us and because He loves us and because He is good, all of the time. We can stand on God's promises and know that He will keep His promises. They stay true time and again. How do we love someone that is in a book? Because God is NOT a character in a book. God is real and He is alive! He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to this earth FOR US so that we would not have to suffer, but so that we would have eternal life. He has made every way for us. It is possible to live a life of pure joy, if we have accepted Jesus and are living for Him. We CAN get to know God and His ways, through the bible, prayer, church, and our own personal experiences. The more that we worship God and the more that we have faith in Him, the more that we will experience Him in our own lives. It is hard to explain to a non-believer the believers experience. But, I can tell you of my relationship with Jesus Christ---I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world!!

God makes The Rules... play by God's Rules... or... ultimatly... you lose

Those of The True Christian Faith have come to God as He prescribes... when one does that There is a knowing that others do not have... no one of The Faith can prove God to you... the proof you seek may only come from God... when God wants you to Know The Truth He will let you know... you, of course, will have the option of refusing... that will be your loss... and you will never know the answer to your question.

Who says it is necessary? God is only for people who still need a parent to tell them what they should and shouldn't do. There is no such thing as blasphemy if you start thinking differently. If you don't believe that God is an entity who can hurt you, and decide your fate for you, why would you care what is said about him/her/it?

Complex question - all I know is that I was brought up in the Lutheran church, and we were taught that God will always forgive your sins, no matter how great or small. The only sin God won't (or can't ) forgive is willful disbelief in him. Which makes sense, if you don't believe in him you're not going to ask forgiveness.

Yes you can get to know God. Reading the bible tells you about God's character. But we come to God by the way of His son, Jesus Christ.

When a person repents of sin and believes in Jesus as their savior, things change. God is no longer someone merely in a book, His spirit indwells you and His presence is in your life. You can have a relationship with Jesus, even if at this point in time we cannot see Him with our eyes.
