I'm moving to Guam, and my mom says that I can get a new puppy! Just, don't know which one to get. I want the cheapest and not so hard to handle with type. Here are my choices. A Maltese, Bichon Frise, Chiauaua, Minutre Doxen, Pug, or a Sheetzu. Thanks for your help!

maltese are excellent.they are very easy to handle since their so small and don't shed.the best part about them is that they always look like puppies even when adults.i ahve a golden retriever puppy and i think they are the best dogs ever but i don't mind the work as they are a lot of maintenence but i think maltese is a better dog for you.

I'm not sure which ones you should get because all puppies are hard to handle and most of them aren't very cheep. But if it was me I would choose a pug or a sheetzu. However, I do know one thing... DON'T GET A CHIAUAUA! Chiauaua's are crazy and sometimes mean.

well the maltese, bichon, and shih tzu's need grooming every few weeks so consider that. pugs CAN have breathing problems with the squished face. dachshunds can have back problems being so long. i have a 1/2 chi 1/2 dachshund that i love and a 1/2 chi 1/2 papillon thats awesome too. I haven't met any bad dogs of any of the breeds you mention but research the breed some and you might find something you don't like. http://dogbreedinfo.com/ has info and pictures

first i would wait until you arrive in Guam. this way there will not be all the transportation costs, and additional costs of transporting an animal through customs. Then see what there is available there, a rescue dog from the pound can make an awesome pet and cost a lot less then any you mentioned, many pure breed dogs have inherited health problems.

try a tibetan terrier instead! they are a little bigger than the others, but funny, sweet, cute and you can give them odd haircuts! dogs smaller than 15lbs or 10in high tend to have knee problems that cost up to $3,000 per knee. they also need careful diets, shouldn't be over walked and can have nasty personalities if spoiled and not trained properly. i should know, i have a chi, 2 replaced knees(7,000) new knee tendon(850) spoiled rotten!(not dog friendly, overly protective) in the long run, the tiny dogs WILL cost a fortune. i never knew they most likely would have knee issues or loss of teeth because of their tiny jaws. so go with a slightly bigger dog, female, fixed, properly trained=perfect pet. ^.^ good luck

What's a Sheetzu?
Do you mean a Shih tzu?
Doxen?
Do you mean a dachshund?
These are all great little companion toy breeds.

Chihuahua is probably the easiest to care for, out of your list of choices.
By the way, the correct spellings are:
- Chihuahua
-Miniature Dachshund
- Shih Tzu.

I'd say a Pug all the way! They are unique, affectionate, personable and portable.

Small dogs tend to be better mannered when they are a mixed breed. We have a Sheetzu/Poodle mix that is very well behaved dog and hypo-allergenic too.
