... my dog is pregnant and the "asker" happens to be a brand new profile, barely asking 1 or 2 questions?

Does anyone else think these are just a bunch of trolls running thru the dog section to irritate people?

In just the past few days I have seen quite a flood of this type of question from "new" users. I find it hard to believe most of it is legitimate and the details are either rather odd, or non existent.

Yep.

I say we boycott them - Don't take the bait so to speak

OR

Give them absolute ridiculous answers... Here's my new approach....

Here's how you breed a female dog:

You wait until she has her period. You put her with the stud (the male dog) 3 to 4 weeks AFTER she stops bleeding.

You leave them in a room alone for 1 to 2 hours. You don't watch them because the first time, dogs get nervous.

2.5 months later you have puppies.

If not, your dog is sterile. You will need to take her to the vet and have her uterus removed so she doesn't get infected and die.

Or something to that affect....

I don't know... The Spay and neuter stuff isn't working. They don't read it. It nothing else, we can laugh instead of screaming or crying.

One thing I won't do is cut and paste a VERY LONG Spay and Neuter SPEECH that some person who shall remain nameless does. I understand the point but it's not working. We have to come up with a new - Clever - subtle united front.

My new approach is working so well I am getting HATE mail from Speuter people. I am proud of myself. =)

I'm fairly new to this, but have noticed that some of the questions/answers are less than serious. Individuals who have been on here for awhile do need to have patience if a question has been asked before - you can't blame newcomers for trying to find an answer to thier problem. I do notice that some of the responses are quite mean-spirited. I wish there was something that could be done about that. I have received many good answers and simply ignore the others... Maybe if these individuals do not get a reaction from people they will simply "fade away"... (Well, one can hope can't they?) :)

This always happens around Estrus cycles and whelping time. Just wait in nine weeks the section will be flooded with "Help my dog is in labor...What do I do?" questions. Makes me sick to think what these poor animals have to face. However, on the other side of the coin so many of the real dog people have been deleted we are all new users. But, we dont ask those type of stupid questions because WE KNOW!!!!!

Yep, I think the same thing, and yes, it's become much more noticeable over the past 3 or 4 days. There's also someone screaming in ALL CAPS and using a lot of ********* and making up a new ID every day. Which I find very annoying, but not sure if it's a reportable offense.

Yeah, I never really thought about it much, but I guess I should have! It also may be that a bunch of idiots didn't know what to do after they bred their dog and decided to start up an account. Or they already have an account, a reputable account (i.e. top contributor) and decided not to mar their reputation and set up a new fake one instead to ask the question.

You know, I hope they are trolls and not more idiots who want to breed animals. I used to volunteer at the humane society and it just makes me sick how many animals just suffer because people are idiots. For anyone considering breeding, it should be mandatory that they go volunteer at a shelter for a month and see the quality of life for those animals, even "good" shelters--it's no life for a cat or dog to be cooped up like that for weeks or months on end, and those are the "lucky" ones.

I agree, I have also noticed. The questions they ask are hideous. Let alone the responses that they give to others serious questions. I don't understand the entertainment that these trolls get out of this.

I haven't been keeping tabs on how new people are but what really bothers me is when people ask very general questions that could easily have been answered through a quick google (I mean Yahoo...) search. Either that or it's a question that has already been asked a million times on Yahoo Answers.

I have not noticed that. how silly. the only thing that bothers me is I don't want some poor soul out there looking for info and finding a bunch of dangerous crap

I WISH I could see who is giving thumbs down and thumbs up. There are times when EVERY answer I give gets a thumbs down, it makes me wonder if I am just a moron who should shut the **** up ... or I should blow it off because they are jerks, being able to see who it is would tell me if I am the jerk or if I am being harassed.

No not trolls from what I see. It's obvious if a person who provides information that isn't a regular gets thumbs down. I read the forum for information on dogs because I have them. I won't offer information because I don't want to feel belittled.
