This is serious. Take away all of his ability to spend. Today. Have his paycheck deposited into your account and give him a cash allowance each week.

When I did this, I stopped being mad about it because action was taken. I also noticed there was a positive side effect to this course of action, my husband began to treat me a lot better because he knows I can give him more cash.

put your foot down, take away his credit cards, his atm cards
and no bank accounts in his name. Give him an allowance
and tell him to seek counseling.

That is what I have done to my husband, I give him money
each week for gas and his lunches and whatever he
has left he can use for whatever, he no longer has the
job of doing our finances or has access to the checkbook
and he wanted a divorce so I packed his back and said
go ahead and leave, but he didn't

Some people never learn how to manage finances. Even if they're drowning in debt, they will just spend for whatever.

The only hope is for someone else to take over all their finances and put them on an allowance.

Find someone to manage your money. Another relative, friend, whoever.

Turnover all paychecks and income to this person, let him place you on a budget and pay your bills for you.

The logic is if you don't see the money, you won't spend it.

there is not much you can do except protect yourself from the spouse's activity. perhaps even marriage counseling to determine the impact on your marriage.
