The government has started identifying Iran as a threat and claiming they're harboring terrorists and giving bombs to others. Why should we believe them, when they lied about Iraq having WMDs?

If it was a "mistake" and not a lie, as so many of you claim, then why are we still in Iraq 4+ years later?

And trust me, I'm highly educated and involved politically. There were no WMDs in Iraq. NOT A SINGLE ONE. Even Bush will admit that now.

Sadly, as many of the responses you've received show, some folk will believe anything they're told by the Government, even when the facts, publicised worldwide, show they were lied to.
Some people are incapable of even the most basic examination of the facts presented to them. My toddler asks more probing questions than these many of these self proclaimed patriots.
Hopefully, the british public have a longer memory and won't forget the deception so quickly. In which case, the US will be on it's own in Iran. No doubt all the 'patriots' on here will be joining up any day now.

Sladside, did you say there was no lies about WMD, where have you been, tell me any truth was ever told about WMD. He told the United Nations he could go to Iraq and lay his hands on all those weapons, all I've seen him lay his hands on was the drapes in the Oval Office stating, "Where are you , I know you have to be there somewhere, come out WMD's'. Giggling all the time, he is a complete total Dictator and a total liar, if he says it is raining outside, you better to the window and look before you grab your umbrella.

Yep, yet it particularly is the final wing this is making issues warm on the 2nd. If a republican wins (different than Ron Paul) then the US will flow to conflict in Iran based upon ridiculous costs of nuclear weapons.

They didn't lie the first time and they are not lying now. Everyone, including the Clinton White House knew that Iraq had WMD's. It is not real difficult to move them around so just because we never found them does not mean they didn't have them. Would you rather just let Iran develop a nuclear weapon and use it against Israel? I don't personally think that would be a good plan. Israel would retaliate and we would get drawn into another war only now Iran would have nukes. Stop living in the past and worry about the future.

Iraq DID HAVE WMDs. When they wipe out entire villages (considered cities in the U.S.) with poisonous gas, why do you think it is not WMD? Iraq did attempt to create nukes; remember all the fuss with the UN inspectors? Iran does have it; as well as China, Russia, India...(it is a long list by now).
All of the Muslim countries have sponsored terrorists; Afghanistan, the Philippines, African nations...
We are fortunate that, at the moment, the Communist countries hate the terroists and try to control them. But, any LOGICAL person would fight the terrorists: it is them or us!

Yes, Iran is probably selling arms and munitions to people in other countries. But so is Italy -- they were caught selling weapons to Iraqi insurgents -- but you don't see Bush going on a rant about the need to invade Italy.
And whether Iran is developing nuclear weapons or not -- they have every right to do so as a sovereign nation. You don't see the US telling Britain, or France, or Russia, or Pakistan or India that they cannot have nuclear weapons. You don't even see the US invading North Korea, despite the fact that North Korea has openly acknowledge their nuclear weapons program.
So, at worst, you have Iran engaging in the same type of activities as most of a dozen other countries -- and no claims we're going to attack those countries. Which means we are singling out Iran solely because we don't like them.

Mistakes and lies are different. Everyone keeps saying that Bush and others lied. That is not true. They (including Hillary) thought that Iraq had these weapons. So it's not a lie. Also we could have checked, but Sadam wouldn't let the inspectors look. (I'm ready for the thumbs down.)
