I he's talking to you? Sure. If you're eavesdropping on someone else's conversation, then check your state and federal laws.
But it's not against the law for a boss to be an ******, and nothing says a boss can't yell.

Holy cats, if I were you I'd up and quit! Who needs that kind of treatment?
Remember you were looking for a job when you found this one.
I have no idea if recording her is legal or not. A place of business is in the public space so her privacy isn't being invaded, and employers are permitted to monitor the activity of their employees using cameras, recorders and computer observation. But I'd say you're on shaky ground if her boss is not the one initiating the "quality control."

Not without her permission and with her attitude,I'd say that would be impossible. It's kind of funny, you can take someone's picture without their permission, but you cant record their voice. Have you tried either calling her boss and telling him what she's doing or getting together with the other workers and writing a letter to him. If you register the letter, you'll have proof that he recieved it and maybe he can do something about this witch with a b.

Depends on
A) what state you are in and there laws according to the situation
B) I would say the only risk you run for legal recoarse is if the boss gets fired then decides to sue you for taping the conversation (or yelling) illegally!

I'm pretty sure that bananas is right and that would be illegal. I would definitely consult someone with a legal background before I started recording.
It sounds like a good idea though. I would love to tape my boss when he's throwing a fit!!

According to my understanding, it is illegal to tape record someone's voice without their knowledge. I recommend that you write a letter to your boss' boss, giving detail about the different behaviors you are having problems with. For example, give dates and times, and things she said, as much as you can remember them. You might also want to start looking for another job. You deserve to work in a better environment.

This is called verbal abuse,,,,go to www.verbal abuse.com or any other verbal abuse boards.
I have been told it is illegal(meaning wont hold up in court) unless the other party is aware they are being recorded.
She has definite problems and I think (if you feel comfortable doing so) of calling her boss and making here aware, threatening a person like this gets you nowhere other than where you are.
using the chain of command,,,ie her boss.
Her boss mya not be aware and if it were me would definitley want to know if this were happening....Good luck and keep us posted,,,,I accept email

It probably violates the Privacy Act, but I would record the tyrant and send a copy of the tape to her boss anonymously.
