After a good workout I end up with a pretty severe headache that comes on suddenly and lasts several hours. Am I doing something wrong? Can I prevent it? Will anything alleviate the pain and/or make it go away quicker?

I drink A LOT of water - all day. Including during a workout. It can't be dehydration. I also eat usually 30 minutes prior to a workout and within 30 minutes after.

Many times this is caused by dehydration. Make sure that you are drinking water before, during and immediately after your workout. Most people skip the "during" part and by the time of the end of their workout they are dehydrated.

If the water doesn't work, try slowing down your workout a bit. You may be trying to push it too hard.

well to relieve your headaches you should drink plenty of water during and after your work out. and make sure that if you exercise you eat more food, because if you dont get enough calories into your body its just as bad as not eating. it is actually a form of anorexia. so remember to eat and drink plenty when you workout.

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water before and after exercising. Also, eat something salty to replenish your body's sodium after having sweated it out.

What are your eating habits ? Do you put fuel in before you work out... could be just low blood sugar.
