My doctor told me that when the thyroid is over taxed trying to produce hormone it can become irritated and feel sore. The ache you felt when you were singing was noticable because you were using muscles in your throat and jaw, but singing didn't cause it, it only made you aware of it.

You could have an under active thyroid, or "hypothyroidism," but it's darn sure not related to singing! A very simple blood test can determine if your thyroid gland is working properly, which incidentally, is very important. There actually are many thousands of people taking thyroid replacement hormone therapy and the medication is one of the least expensive prescription medications available. And, at the right dose, which your doctor will determine, there are NO side effects.

it would desire to deepen your voice in case you have hypothyroidism. i comprehend because it has befell to me. each and every now and then the thyroid meds will help to restoration the voice. With me it did not, yet i think of this is via the fact i replaced into undiagnosed for some years. once you are trying you thyroid, verify its first component interior the morning to get the final examining for TSH. The lab will say it is not suitable what time you are trying, in spite of the undeniable fact that it does via fact TSH changs through the day being larger whilst we sleep and decrease around 2-3PM>

i don't think that your thyroid gland can be affected by too much singing. lol. if that was the case, you would hear about it from almost all vocalists. the thyroid gland is the iodine center in your body.
