Help everyone who know's something about this.
My dog went into heat and we tried to breed her with our male although he was about twice her size and everytime he tried to breed he would slide down to her back legs. We never saw you know what go you know where so we figured he was just too big and breeding wouldn't happen.
after a few weeks we noticed her belly getting slightly bigger and her teets swelling. It has been 2 1/2 months and she is getting huge and just started eating a ton of food but still no puppies.. I don't know what to think. We moved in the middle of her pregnancy. Does stress play a role in pregnancy times. I could of been off on her due date but not by much because the male dog was gone right after her heat which ended the end of June.
Please help!
thanks

2.5 months, your puppies are getting old.. She likely went thru a false pregnancy.. If it was my dog, I would take her to the vet.. Would have taken her already.. not waited this long.
Moving would not play a role in pregnancy times.. How could it?

Well first of all never breed a female with a male that is twice her size its dangerous for your DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes when a FEMALE DOG enters to heat and when she is with a male and she didn't get pregnant then she enters into a false pregnancy they look and act like they are pregnant they get their belly bigger they eat more ,etc.
Sometimes when that happens their (false pregnancy)LONGS more than normal time of real pregnancy ,
well anyways you better go to the vet.
BYE!!

Why are you breeding this dog?
Especially since it sounds like you have little info on proper breeding and the possible issues that may come along when breeding.

You should have had a vet involved in this from the start
Stop messing around on the computer and get to the vets

Puppies are USUALLY born (whelped) within 63 days (give or take a day). It's been about 82 days.

If the male you tried to breed her with has been gone since the end of June and your female is pregnant, he is not the sire of this litter.

GET HER TO A VET!

I am so sick of people doing back yard breeding!!!!!!! has it ever ocurred to you that , you are not qualified to breed animals? That is obvious from your question! Has your dog had any prenatal care from a vet? Take her to a vet. And please get her spayed,! Millions of dogs are put to death every year because there a simply not enough homes for them! Don't add to the problem.

"We tried to breed her to our male even though he is twice her size."

This is like a 7' man impregnating a 4' woman. Do you think MAYBE she might have problems?

If the dog is pregnant, whip out the wallet for a C-section. Could be $1000-$3000.

If the dog is not pregnant count your lucky stars and get her spayed and him neutered. Could be $200-$300.

Leave the breeding to the show professionals who know what they are doing and enjoy your pets for what they are. Pets, not little breeding machines.

You need to get her to a vet now. She is way overdue. And she may be having problems because the father was so much bigger than her. The puppies will likely have to be removed by C-section.

It is likely a false pregnancy. Dogs are NOT pregnant for 2.5 months.
Take her to the vet and make sure nothing is wrong, such as a uterine infection.

Take it to the vet to see what is going on. And please don't breed your dogs. There are millions of dogs already who don't have homes.

Vet time. Next time consider "breeding" a cactus.
