The solution is open communication, education and tolerance for others. That shoulod end war and prejudice.

As for crime - thats an economic problem that religion cannot fix either - (recall that the majority of persons in prison in the US are Christians - but have converted upon reaching prison...BUT...) if it could, the recidivism rate of paroled persons wouldnt be as high as it currently is (upwards of 70% in America). If Christianity can end crime, then shouldnt all of the people who convert to Christianity in prison NEVER re-enter prison for other crimes? Instead, 70% of them do...

In thousands of years of dominance, monotheism has not solved these, and may have caused or inflamed many of the problems of today.

Tolerance, respect and ana consensus to live and let live, and truly agree to disagree would be a good framework, but almost everyone wants to be "right," and zealotism and extremism sells better than cooperation.

Reducing population while increasing education, health services and baseline quality of life would be good mileposts, but we need the mutual respect part first, and that can only grow from individuals to communities to societies.

How does believing in God solve any problem whatsoever?

Prejudice can be solved by education as can crime. Another way to stop Crime is to execute quicker and have actual life sentences.
However much we try we can't stop wars.

I do believe in God & Jesus Çhrist. But let's say if I didn't believe and I was still in my total sinful flesh, this would be how I'd solve it; "I'd take all the hateful human devils in this world and WIPE THEM OUT! Not one more second wasted, do it NOW because they used up ALL their time of repentance."
Then the peace-loving ones will remain and so live happily ever after.
Yes, Lord Jesus come quickly. Amen & Amen.

Education.

And I'm afraid Clint has it right...I do feel religions are the basis for a number of societal ills and we would be better off without most of them (at least the extreme, judging, hateful ones).

Well, we could all start be accepting responsibility for our actions and holding others accountable for theirs.

We could stop blaming our weaknesses and failings on devils and demons. That would be a good start.

Why not ask the atheists? they seem to know all the answers.
They love to mock believers, and never take questions seriously.
