...that you think everything had to evolve?? why don't you think it could have just started how it is now with all these species?? Why did everything have to evolve to become what it is now????

How do you know God couldn't have made those species that died off and they just died off naturally? Not through evolution?

You say there is evidence that supports it. What about the evidence that doesn't? that says otherwise???

If you truly look through evolution you will see the many gaping holes in it. The holes start from the beginning to the end of this "theory". Anything shown to contradict evolution is usually brushed under a rug. Anyone with any sense can see that evolution has too many holes in it to be true. The problem is that so many people are to quick to follow. They follow blindly w/o question. A scientist says ..... This scientist may be one day proven utterly wrong but not until his followers die off. That is fact.
Want some examples of the holes in evolution? What happened before the Big Bang? What caused singularity? Where did the encoded information in DNA come from? How did inorganic molecules aquire the complexity to become organic? How could the first living cell begin? How could that first cell reproduce? Just before life appeared, did the atmosphere have oxygen or did it not have oxygen? How did the grand canyon form?--More evidence supports a massive flood than the Colorado river cutting it over millions of years. Dead things that become fossils have to be killed and buried almost instantaneously in order to fossilize. If something drops dead in open air it will decompose, its bones turning into ashes over a few hundred yrs or so. Other animals--carrion eaters and such will carry off the creatures bones or ingest them. Where are all the transitional fossils? If a dinosaur's upper arm/leg evolved into a birds wing wouldn't it become a bad leg long before it became a good wing? How accurate is Carbon-14 dating?
Believing in evolution requires a lot of faith. I'm sorry i don't seem to have as much faith as these evolutionists have. If you believe them you have to believe that we came from nothing, are nothing, and are going nowhere.
Contrary to what these uneducated people on this forum will tell you there is a lot of evidence contrary to evolution.

Every bit of scientific evidence supports evolution. No scientific evidence supports Biblical creation, or any other creation myth, of which there have been many.
Thinking people are told that it is impossible and illogical for one living species to change or evolve into another, despite what all the physical evidence shows. Then they are asked to believe that all animals, including humans, as well as the earth and stars, suddenly just popped into existence out of nowhere, and from nothing except the word of an invisible supreme being.
Which is more logical to believe? I hope that answers your question, or at least gives you a different way of looking at things.

If it had started how it is now there wouldn't have been different species to lay down fossils. But we find all sorts of species in fossils that are not around now.
If it had started how it is now plus other (now extinct) species we would expect species to be more or less randomly distributed across the strata. We don't. We do not find rabbit fossils in dinosaur infested strata or sea reptiles in the Cambrian deposits.
Since:
1. It is apparent that the species on earth have changed.
2. Evolution explains that change.
We follow evolution. Once someone comes up with a better explanation consistent with the known facts we will (or at least should) change to that.
Josh and AllenintheHills - the question was NOT 'is evolution true' but 'why couldn't things have started as they are now'. You haven't answered that question. I know why, you know why.

I agree with you somewhat. I agree that it is possible that your God could have done that. But I ALSO contend that it is JUST as possible that the Flying Spaghetti Monster did it, and NOT your God. The point is, there is LOTS of evidence for evolution, and virtually none for God creating things. Any reasonable person will assume that the things that have evidence are most likely to be correct.

Fossil evidence show that all species had earlier versions.
I believe that roughly 1% of all species that have inhabited this planet are in existance today. The other 99% have become extinct.
We know that life began at least a billion years ago. That is plenty of time for species to change due to adaptation.

because of all the evidence for evolution
you do know there's evidence right? lots of it?
you do know that thousands of scientists in countries all over world work in the field of evolutionary biology right?
It wasn't just that Darwin had this idea and everyone took his word on it. People do actually spend their lifes researching and discovering more evidence for evolution.

Scientific evidence from fossils to DNA
God could have done Creation anyway He wanted but evolution seems to be one of His key tools and shows God's commitment to free will IMHO

There's no such thing as "evolutionists". Are you a gravitationist?
* Evolution is every much a fact as the theory of gravity.
* Over 99.8% of scientists in relevant field accept evolution.
* There are no alternative scientific theories.
* There is a huge amount of evidence in support of evolution...
* And zero evidence against it.
* The 'discussion' is actually educated people trying to educate others.
* The more intelligent a person is, the more likely they are to understand and accept evolution.
* The "discussion" only happens in backward places like Turkey and parts of the united states.
Please - you're embarrassing your fellow christians and your country (the united states, right?)

If the story of genesis is true and no new species can evolve, then that means Adam and Eve must have been infected with every human disease and parasite that exists today and ever existed, including bubonic plague, smallpox, syphillis, AIDS, Ebola, flesh eating bacteria, malaria, etc etc etc.
They would have died almost instantly.
This is in addition to the overwhelming evidence verifying Evolution.

Ask them for a true transitional fossil. you know a fossil that shows a species "evolving" to the next level, I mean think about with the billions and billions of species we now have, and all of the evolving time and time again, we should have plenty of things like, Fish with legs, lizards with wings, apes with movable thumbs. So where are they?
