Why is seeing your favorite sense?

Sight is the sense that gives one the most information about what's going on at a distance as well as nearby. That makes it perfect for safety reasons.
Add color and it not only enhances that distance viewing but it provides a definite esthetic aspect to incoming data about the world around one. And THAT'S a good thing!
