why do you fear to beleive in Jesus Christ? If you would just give it a try, with a sincere heart, with faith that he could exsist, maybe this could be a wonderful, calming thing in your life. Give it a try!

I don't mean any disrespect, it just seems like some people are afraid to try. I'm just asking those people, what would it hurt? Thanks

Let's ask your question again but with one minor change, you read it and tell me your answer..."why do you fear to beleive in FSM? If you would just give it a try, with a sincere heart, with faith that he could exsist, maybe this could be a wonderful, calming thing in your life. Give it a try! "

I absolutely believe in Jesus Christ. He is an ascended master. However, I'm not a Christian. Jesus does not scare me in the least. He taught love, compassion, and forgiveness. It's the rest of the Bible that fails to resonate, and the Christian tradition is full of intolerance, judgment, and an amazing amount of negativity. I believe Christ exists, but his followers seem intent on calling me an "unbeliever" or inform me that I will be going to hell. Nothing wonderful or calming about that. I gave Christianity a try for many years, but it was not my true spirituality/spiritual path.

I never trash the religion/spirituality of others. To me, it's completely personal. If it works for you, great!

I don't fear Jesus who was a spiritual master. Why would I? I don't fear religion. I am against the teachings that some christians claim are of Jesus. He didn't teach what half of you claim he did. He wasn't a bigot.

Why don't you give a try to being open minded for a while. You might find it much better.

I did believe for the last 17 1/2 years, and know I have seen the truth and it is much more peacful than you will ever imagine if you keep up what you are doing, and I know you are going to want to lecture me on the Great Commission, but truth be told I have seen the light and I know that what you are doing is doing what you are told, because you are guilty of not doing it like you were told to do in the fist place.

Why do you insist that yours is the only "true" religion, cause from where I stand all of them are true, just different. Here I offer this challenge to you, You and your friends who are Christians try to believe in any of the other religions for a short time and then we can see eye to eye hopefully, see you get my drift you try ours and we try yours, but I know that is not going to happen so stop trying to bully us into believeing in what you believe. Try Paganism why don't ya?

Blessed Be.

I was Christian for over a decade (raised in it) before I became an atheist. I used to believe in faith.

Then I came to my senses.

I do not fear non-existent beings. I do, however, have some concerns about what people will justify, due to their belief in non-existent beings. Most religious history is the history of war, government tyranny (no separation of church/state) and land grabs from indigenous peoples.

The reason that I fear it is that I believed and lived by that mind rot for 20 some- odd years. I finally decided to read the bible and decide for myself and not follow everyone elses word.
Much more calm, tolerant , accepting and loving than I ever was a Christian

I was raised Christian, so the Christian view had a strong influence on my life. Sometimes I feel I am in contact with him. When I do, I feel he supports me in my scientific attitude, even when the conclusion is that he cannot be the only path to God. This is because I have a great admiration for him and I think he is an intelligent person.

I became an atheist in 4th grade.

At age 19, I truly wanted to be a Christian, and tried my best... but I just couldn't buy it. You know sometimes when you want to believe something so much, but you just know it isn't true? Like finding out someone close to you did something truly horrific, and you want to believe they are innocent? That was Christianity for me.

gradually, I shifted into paganism, and found real spirituality.
