When i was in high School in Saint Micheal's convent School, My School Principal helped me by reducing my Tution fee because i couldnt afford it. I was so happy and while i was leaving the room thanking him, He said "God bless you Son". Its been 10 years but i still remember the honesty and confidence in his tone. Alot of my teachers were Christians too who not only helped us learn our subjects but Morals too. They have had so many contributions in supporting humanity all around the world.
Christian is a very Broad term, Why blame all because of bad experience with a few who claimed to be Christian?

Excellent point. Actually I believe that the Religious Right's political agenda has forced a certain intolerant and literalist image if Christianity into our focus. It's not Christianity per se that fits this image, just the political aspirations of a few influential leaders who have coopted evangelical theology to thier own purposes. Not all Christians hate homosexuals, are anti-choice, or take the Bible literally.

I think there is a lack of venues to share negative experiences about religion. R&S sort of lends itself to being the sounding board for all who are hurt and angry. What is good about it though is if you spend enough time here, you begin to understand that the generalizations are false and there really are some good people out there. Everyone is generalized on this forum, not just the christians. R&S is a great way to realize the diversity.

One reason: they don't identify themselves as Christians. They don't evangelize, they don't advertise God, don't try to convert others, don't act out of fear of God. They are just everyday good people who happen to hold Christianity as their beliefs (whether they are just quietly devout, or only nominal members). They aren't meant to be addressed by our generalizations, because they are generally good, kind, regular folks who could are either firm enough in faith to not be bothered or bother others about it, or they would not care either way. Basically, they wouldn't be on here!

It's like Americans used to say about the Chinese. "They all look alike, to me"
People don't know the difference between a true believer and those who simply call themselves christian, without ever having known Jesus.
