Communists aren't true atheists. They have a Religion. They just turned the State into a God.

The proof of Communism being a Religion is that Soviet Communists persecuted other Religions and Chinese Communists still do. Only Big Religions EVER do that.

And by clapping your hands and worshiping God, do you mean like when that Buddhist guy was giving the Senate morning prayer? Ya know, not everybody thought that was appropriate.

The responses above prompt the question, "What is the conventional wisdom of our society?" It's not vulgar ignorance. It's the conventionally accepted consensus among idea-people, the teachers, academics, and reporters and writers. Religious fundamentalism gets little respect in the academy or the media. The conventional wisdom taught in college is that religion is dangerous, unless it's watered down to Unitarian or Episcopalian standards, which have pretty much thrown in the towel to conventional wisdom.
___Religious fundamentalism IS dangerous, but the body-count for secular ideologies is a lot higher than that for religious wars, and religion has had a lot longer to kill people off. Conventional wisdom ignores this, and it isn't taught in school.
___The latest anti-religious secular fundamentalist rants from Hitchens, Dawkins, and Dennett are treated in a very differently light from the rants of religious fundamentalists, though they demonstrate the same sort of blind belief in the conventional assumptions of OUR age that religious fundamentalism shows for the conventional assumptions of an earlier age.
___Serious scientists know that the enterprise of science is never complete, and that profound revisions of today's scientific assumptions will occur in the future, if we keep learning, not revisions that refute today's narrow science, but which locate it within a broader perspective. Conventional wisdom 500 years hence will likely laugh at our conventional wisdom just as we laugh at that of the Middle Ages. What seems obvious today will not seem so tomorrow.
___Religious fundamentalism has its glaring faults, but in the West, it resides in a world whose conventional wisdom gives it little respect. The need to reconcile modern science with religious belief keeps many intellectually humble. Smug arrogance is not a good approach to learning anything.

I think communism is horrible as is any kind of dictatorship, but to say it's atheists only is ridiculous. You seem to forget Islamic Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran (to name a few!). How horrible is that? Women can't drive, leaving Islam is a crime, 4 men needed as witnesses to rape. What kind of man stands there and watches a crime instead of helping? No dictatorships and no force of a religion are best.

You really should go actually read Marx. He made Communism atheistic because he wanted Communism to be the religion. The problem wasn't that Communists didn't have a god, it was that they made Communism a god.

Saying that all Atheists are responsible for Communism is like saying that all Christians are responsible for Nazi Germany.

Hmmm communists made a communist state. Not all atheists are not communists and not all communists are atheists. By your logic all theists are liars because of your question.

Is there a question somewhere in there? I don't really understand what your ranting about. Oh, and Communism is NOT the same as Atheism. Look it up little girl.

Communism is a well meaning idea but highly impractical since it has to do away with individual freedom.
