when creationists and other advocates of intelligent design speak of the universe, they make the assertion that order cannot exist without a creator. i'm curious to know where all this order in the universe is? what is your basis to say something is in order as opposed to disorder. is there any such thing as chaos?

Take a look at a banana. Many evolutionists believe nature adapted to fit our needs. That is why there is air. Because we couldn't breathe without air and we'd die. That is why there are trees. Because we couldn't breathe without trees and we'd die. That is why there is food. Because otherwise we'd starve and die. That is why there's water, because otherwise we'd go thirsty and die. God created a system in which, whatever it is we are in need of, will be replenished. That is why food grows back on trees. That is why animals reproduce. That is why water goes through the cycle of evaporation and condensation. If this system was not created, we would have all died. That is why God created a system in which we are able to produce, otherwise our species would die out. That is why the earth is at a perfect distance from the sun, otherwise we would either burn or freeze to death. If we had no resources such as metal or iron and other important useful elements. If we didn't have eyes we wouldn't be able to see, would we be able to survive as a species without eyes? Yes. How would natural selection and the process of evolution come to realize the use of having eyes? All of this and much more are EVIDENCES that God (an intelligent designer) exists. It is up to everyone to -accept- these as evidences and realize God is the more rational explanation.

In my first point with the banana, how can a banana know how to adapt to our needs? It has a coating on it that keeps it from rotting, it has indents in it that go with our fingers, it has a tip on the top for us to peel easily, it is curved so that it is easier to eat. All of these qualities are not necessary in helping us evolve or survive, so how would a banana know to adapt itself into this way, when it doesn't have a brain?

Magley points out yet again, how atheists use such horrible analogies.

Study Fractals. Order and symetry exists in every level and frequency of energy that exists in the universe. If you study cells under a microscope, you will see order and also chaos existing side by side.

The way DNA is supercoiled and compressed, and the precisision in which it is locally unwound and copied to meet the cells need for protein translation. Compare that with the process of mutation, which adds chaos to the system.

However, there is always far more order than chaos. That is why cells continue to function billions of years after life evolved to a cellular stage. Mutated creatures die off, and ordered creatures survive to pass on their DNA to offspring. In fact the process of evolution has meant that creatures have become more complicated and more ordered over the billenia. That ordering or reordering resulted from chaotic mutations, insertions. deletions and translocations occuring in our DNA.

Chaos is a concept like zero and infinite. It is the intermediate state of existence between two seperate forms of energy undergoing transition.

Chaos in thought comes from a lack of perspective and the resulting confusion. Therefore more chaos exist within the mind of living beings than anywhere else. That chaos eventually leads to curiosity and a need to find answers. This is a healthy process, necessary for the development of the soul.

Order is chaos. Chaos is order. Its the nature of the universe to be wild and also regamented at the same time. Its like time, we only keep track of it because we can. Order and chaos are lables that as a species we have no real basis for slapping on things because we have no real idea what the universe is doing cosmicly. Every one of our cells and the atoms that make them are moving around at there own pace, we concider this order, but its not, because the slightest nudge throws them on to a new path. We call the new path chaoitic, because it isnt the same one that it was before. Luck is an awsome god. I worship him too. With out it we might have evolveed into something silly.. like one eyed purple people eaters.

There is no chaos in the universe because everything is governed by the laws of physic which do not change.

Order in the universe is highly debatable.

What type of "order" produces rocks a mile across that crash into, and destroy, planets. Doesn't seem very orderly to me.

"order" in christian arguments for god is usually described to me as "look how everything works together" the functionality of the body, etc.... there is no design, any more than a garbage dump is "designed" to be smelly
